WANTED, NOW FOUND - FZS1000
« on: 05 April 2014, 03:38:59 pm »
I think I have finally decided to stick with the fazer fold for my next bike, in the shape of an FZS1000, Ive got a max budget of around £2500. will consider any colour but would rather it wasnt silver (as we all know, those are the slowest, and most rubbish).

I would prefer something within ~200 miles from Glasgow, but may travel for the right bike.

PM me if you have something that may be suitable please.  Thanking You :)

Weyyyyyy!!!!! :woot

That one Devilsyam sold andy looked a good'n & it was about that price too.

Have you got a preference on engine colour though Mick?....from what i've read the black engines seem to hold their paint a bit better.

I do prefer the black engined ones mate, yes.

I agree the one Luke sold recently looked perfect, I just didnt have the funds at the time unfortunately.

No point in messing around looking at crazy stuff any longer, the FZS600 was perfect for me in terms of bar position and comfort, and so the FZS1000 is essentially the same only with that bit more power im hankering for - makes perfect sense so no point overcomplicating it any longer.

I saw this and thought it might suit you, as it's in Falkirk and it's the best colour ;)  I would offer £2000

I phoned the guy last night....no answer (also text him, no reply). Worth mentioning I saw it on eBay for £1750 though...probably won't be there at that price ;)

Thanks for the heads up though :)

I saw this one - It's up in elgin. Not too far from inverness. Looks like a good one with low mileage. You should et it cheap as its up north.

im watching that one too ;)

It has been dropped before though, panels have been changed and fazer graphics are missing from the fairing (the owner states it was originally blue iirc).

Would really prefer to view that before comitting to it, will see where the price ends up before sticking a bid in :)

I forgot that when i was looking for one a few weeks back 'sadlonelygit' offered me his for £2300. I would have bought it, but i wanted one for less, as it was purely a work bike. His one has r1 front end 29'000 miles and is in good nick. If you are looking for a company to transport your bike i have a cracking company i used that charges £120 for anywhere in UK. Here is post he sent me http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,11778.msg129324.html#msg129324

nice bike. Not sure how that would go with my insurance though with the multitude of modifications? Do they even cover for "made up" suspension setups, I genuinely dont know (isnt it different in their eyes from you having installed an uprated hagon/ohlins spring&damper, than springs and dampers from two different bikes that were never originally designed to work together?). I know all thats probably no problem, but every bike ive ever owned has been more or less standard fayre apart from the basics, makes me apprehensive  :o

It's a common mod. I'm doing it to one of my fazers. Don't think i'll bother informing insurance to be honest.

hopefully going to look at a Fazer tomorrow/wednesday night :)

Standard apart from a Hagon shock, and a topbox. Is there any difference between the FZS1000 with the "Fazer" sticker on the fairing, and the ones with "FZ1" sticker on it - or are these bike from the transition from gen1-gen2?

I believe that the carb'ed FZ-1s are US imports. Pop Kosmic Kartman a PM, he'll know!  :)

Ive seen a few on here with the different stickers.. but never figured out what the deal was. Really hope its not been dropped, it looks well (although perhaps that may give me a bit more room to maneuvre as its a trader and not a private sale):

not sure where the yamaha badges have come from over the calipers though? I really need to get a proper look round it, pics can hide all sorts of nasties :lol

If it has FZ1 on the side of the fairing then it is a Us import. Quite often the paint schemes are different. Eg..silver/black with black engine or blue with black engine.
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

That is definitely an import. It will have mph clocks as its american. It looks like a plastic sticker thats been added to the caliper.

So if you do search under the seat or wherever for the serial number...& it says UK origin then the sticker or possibly worse has been changed on it.

If you take a note of the frame no and contact Yamaha Uk they will tell you which country it originates from. I bought an import a few years ago and they were very helpful. Turns out it was from France!

Thanks for the info. It does have normal mph clocks on, as there is a picture of them. Are there any other differences aside from the colours/stickers? anything major, I mean?
