No doubt cheaper than what an engineering shop charged me to do mine. :)

I need to do the same thing. Do you have a link for the tap please?

Tap not arrived yet, got an email from eBay say they suspended the sellers account so I might have to buy another. It’s M16 x 1.0

Hi you'll need to drill up the end of the bars with a 15mm drill for the tap to fit.
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.

I was told the bar end needed to be pre-drilled before tapping, which accounted for the high charge of having the job done in a machine shop. Flooky on this forum, just tapped his bars straight away with no problem at all.

I've done this at one end of a set of spare renthal bars and it was hard work! Still working up the enthusiasm to finally do the other end  :(
BTW, I opted for FJ1200 bar ends as they are even heavier than the standard FZS1000 bar ends - figured they would minimise vibrations.

Tap arrived today and yes you need a 15mm drill bit 1st, luckily I had one, all done now.

Is it hard work?  Do you need a vice to hold the bar?  I don’t have a vice.

It’s not too bad, it’s the drilling that’s the hardest part, take time as hold drill tight, it can snatch a bit, drilled in about 22mm, then the tap ran in with an adjustable spanner on it pretty easy. Knock the swarf out with the bike leant over, try the bar end 1st then use threadlock to secure it, there is no taper thread so you have to use it.

After fitting your 758's, have you ridden both with / without the bar ends in place, for a comparison on their effectiveness?

I replaced the standard handlebars with a Renthal 758 bar, however chose NOT to add (re-fit) bar ends. I have no noticeable vibration or other issues at any speed.
The Renthal bar does appear to soak up alot.

Yeak I rode it 1st with just some shitty press in ones, as you say, don't make a lot of difference,
I've only tapped them in 22mm so they stick out a long way
