Right, which fecker nicked my EXUP valve????
« on: 23 February 2012, 08:28:36 pm »
Decided last weekend that it was about time I serviced my EXUP valve.

After 2.5 hours stripping it down and getting the fecking bolts out I finally removed the external plate (that was all connected up to the cables and everything) and found there's no bloody valve in there.  >: >: >:

Oh well, I've bought some stainless bolts for it today and I'm going to get a peice of 4mm thick stainless plate and make a blanking plate for it. That will do until (or If) I  can get a valve off Ebay.
Blessed are the cracked, for they let in the light.

if you never ridden a fazer with an exup, you may not realise the diffrence ! The exup gives the mid range power.without it , its like any other sportsbike engine...

It ran ok but was always a bit hesitant starting. It's been ivanised but was still hesitant.

Just managed to source an EXUP valve from Ebay (thanks to whoever it was somewhere on here who suggested checking American Ebay).

£42 and I get to find out what a Fazer should really be like.  :lol

I have suggested getting one from America in the past as that is where I got mine from and was cheaper and in a lot better condition than the ones on uk eBay

Got the new valve on wednesday and managed to find time to fit it. I now see what has been said on here about it being a different beastie with a working valve.

Oh yeah, stainless bolts and mucho copperslip was used.  :) :)

I'm in love with my Fazer again. Hopefully R6 shock mod and front sus mod later this year to improve it even further.
