Help.....My FZ1n seems to have developed an annoying habbit of not always starting when I press the button. It seems to be an intermittent affair as usually after a couple of goes it does start, but I am waiting for the time when I refuel and it doesnt. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this? thankyou in advance :)

clutch switch, sidestand switch - those would be my first ports of call. kill switch can cause the same - best thing is not to use it.

give them a clean with some contact cleaner.

might also want to give the contacts a clean in the starter button itself to.

When it happens, does it turn over properly? Is it sluggish turning over (or dead)?

How old is your battery? (ie, is it feasible that its on its way out?).

Did you get anywhere with this?

Mine has started to do something similar. I press the starter button there is a click from what sounds like the motor and nowt happens. Sometimes it fires on the first go other times i have to try 6 / 7  times and then it fires up
