Fazer 8 or FZ1S

Chatting with a few mates last night and considering doing a European Tour next year. Love my 600 but think I might be better off with a bigger bike to do it. I like both the Fazer Z1S and Fazer 8. Is there anyone who lives near Aberdeen who has a Fazer 8 so that I can see one in the flesh. Any comments/opinions welcome.

The FZS600 is more than enough bike to do a tour across Europe
, Is more practical too as far easier to put luggage on than either the FZ1 or 8
I have toured on my old FZS600 and it was a dream - going away on my FZ1 in July and trying to figure out how to fit anything to it lol

I used to do 30k/annum on my fazer 600, and its plenty to tour on, and comfier than the fz1 (i still have one of each). It will cope with it easily! Chuck your luggage on, and GO!!

Surprised you've not gone for an FZS1000 to be honest, it's just like the 600, comfy, decent mpg and tank range, but bigger - engine is obviously more powerful with a tonne more grunt, and its physically more spacious too. Also realy easy to stick hard or soft luggage on it!

Been round Europe on both the FZS600 and FZ1. As others have said, the FZS600 is more than capable, even 2 up. Have to say the FZ1 isn't as comfortable, and unless you spend £££'s like I did on hard luggage, you'd be better off on the 600 or a Gen 1 thou.

I get a*se-ache after about 30 miles on my FZ1 and thats with a Tony archer seat
Having had all the models of Fazer the FZS600 & FZS1000's are the most comfortable by far although I prefer the thou.

I've got a Fazer8 and do a few trips abroad each year.
Before I bought a 46l top box I had a 40l expandable to 60l sports holdall. Way too much room at 60l, I took far more than I needed. A piece of plywood in the bottom as a firm base, 2 luggage straps around the pillion grab rail and a bungee connected to the rear mudguard to stop the bag sliding forward. It rests very well on top of the grab rails and only takes a couple of minutes to attach. My kit is in waterproof bags inside.
The seat isn't great for more than 2 hours without a stop and rest though. Decent fuel economy, 55mpg @ 80mph
On the way to Slovania 2011.

Nowt wrong with my FZ1s seat , doing 400 miles per day no problems.
Tank bag and rear seat pack is ample.

I've had the 600 foxeye and 2 Fazer thou Gen 1's.
For me it's the Fazer 8, but everyone is different. Have a look at all and go for the one you can afford and like the best.
