Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Oil drain bolt gasket
« on: 16 April 2023, 11:54:35 am »
Hi all, I'm about to change the oil on my FZ1 ABS 2012 (my first time changing the oil). The manual says I should replace the engine oil drain bolt gasket with a new one, but there is no part number and I can find it on Fowlers. Can I just use a crush washer? and what is the size?
Thanks,Bikebud.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Kinked fuel line
« on: 06 February 2022, 05:12:36 pm »
Hi, I have a kinked fuel line and I want to replace the hose while using the existing connectors (I don't want to get another OEM fuel line as the quality is rubbish and it kinks easily).
Can anyone recommend a good quality 6 x 12 mm fuel hose that I can get here in the UK?

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Fuel pump remains on with ignition off
« on: 23 September 2020, 05:31:42 pm »
Hi all,

I had my bike washed a few days ago, and it seems that water got through to some loose wiring (the bike has alot of after market add on and shaddy wiring). When I switched the ignition key, the engine started on its own, indicators blinked randomly, and Check Engine and ABS lights came on.

I left it to dry out in the sun, and engine start, engine check light, and indicators went away. But the ABS light remains on (i think the ABS has stopped working) and even when I take the ignition key off, the fuel pump keeps buzzing, until it drains the battery.
But otherwise the bike starts and seems to run fine.

Any ideas what causing the fuel pump to stay on? I plan to lift the tank start disconnecting things until I find the culprit, but not sure where to start.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / FZ1 2Gen Service Manual
« on: 06 July 2020, 03:59:41 pm »
Hi, can anyone recommend a good service manual for the FZ1 SA 2012? It seems Haynes dont make a manual for the FZ1, and I find the manufacturer manual to be incomprehensible.

Thanks.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / FZ1 2nd Generation Brakes upgrade
« on: 22 June 2020, 07:17:55 pm »
Hi all,

I bought a 2012 FZ1 S ABS a few weeks ago. I'm loving the bike, but not very impressed with the brakes. They are a bit spongy and take a bit of time and squeeze to stop the bike, although the pads are new and the fliud was replaced before I bought it.

What would be a good, relatively cheap upgrade? Thinking of putting some braded lines, but I dont think that would be enough.
