stator problem
« on: 11 November 2015, 08:52:25 pm »
hi im new on hear just askinig for some help. ive got a fz1n gen2 22,000miles on and today i got a strange noise from the left hand side of my bike and when i got to work i realised i couldnt get it started again so as im a car mechanic i checked the battery and charging system and relised the bike wasnt charging so i took the stator ssy apart to find the the magnets on the flywheel had came un stuck and gone around the 3 phase generator. i notice the part numbers have been changed on the parts. is there a recall on this or do i just need to suck it up and buy all the new bits?

No recall unfortunately, it'll be expensive to fix  :\

It's not a straightforward swap either.
Your best bet is to read up on the FZ1OA & get as much information as possible for you to work with.

Make sure you buy the latest version of the outer housing as although no recall yamaha changed the part
