Of course, there is always the possibility that the one pictured above is a UK bike that has had a paintjob. I don't think the American ones had the 2 tone black and grey with that black stripe down the centre of the tank. Maybe it was a previous owners preference to have 'FZ1' graphics on the upper cowling rather than 'Fazer'  :rolleyes
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

No differences i know of unless its from california where they have stupid emission laws and there could be some sort of system that pumps air into the exhaust to make the emissions even cleaner than what the standard ais system fitted to all other models does. Power wise they are the same. Only country they are restricted is France. Easily deristricted by removing plastic caps inside the carb tops. Where abouts is the bike? Is it Birmingham?
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

That paintjob is definitely an original american paint job. For what it's worth i think it's really nice :)

If its still essentially the same bike im not overly fussed if its an import, but still something I would like to 100% confirm or deny before buying... Onto the next question, where is the Frame number on the thou?

I found the bike you are looking at.(Edinburgh) Don't pay that price for it! Far too expensive.. Look at the very low mileage bikes that sold for under £3500 on here. It does look in really good condition tho... The frame no is at the front right hand side on the headstock there is also a  (white label) in front of tank with frame no's also.

I stand corrected. Its not a paint scheme I have seen before but I just had a browse through the old 'Fazer Parade' thread and found one in there. Its a lovely looking paint scheme IMO.

ha. Indeed. No intention of paying sticker price, you mad mate? Im confident I can get that down, especially given all the info thats been uncovered tonight - thats before Ive even seen it and started noticing the small faults ;)

First thing you should say to dealer is that it's an import(paint job) and do they have proof of mileage. That will throw them for a start. Check tyre wear another bargaining tool! Turn the ignition on and you should hear the exup valve rotate into closed position. Service history? Big one to tell them is that a major service is due at 25'000 miles (Valve clearances) Obviously being an import they are valued a lot lower. Offer a stupid price, if they don't accept walk out the showroom, they will soon chase after you for a deal. Good luck :)

Not a bad price, but when you include transportation it's getting expensive.

I forgot that when i was looking for one a few weeks back 'sadlonelygit' offered me his for £2300. I would have bought it, but i wanted one for less, as it was purely a work bike. His one has r1 front end 29'000 miles and is in good nick. If you are looking for a company to transport your bike i have a cracking company i used that charges £120 for anywhere in UK. Here is post he sent me http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,11778.msg129324.html#msg129324

The courier you used was very good
