Yep, Merc lump it is. Driven about 500 miles this week, so doing a basic service this weekend.

Is the Fazer finished?. Thought you had some carb issues.

Almost there - needs a quick road test to settle a few things (clutch cable adjustment & balance carbs) and then its sorted.

No doubt it will feel like a new bike. I know mine did yesterday on the first ride since finishing it. Took a couple of 10mm open ended with me to adjust the gearlever position. Hope all goes well :thumbup

Since I last rode it in September '20, I've fitted progressive fork springs, had a blood clot removed from my leg and given the Thou a bit of a spruce up (new clutch and throttle cables, oil & filters and carbs ultrasonically cleaned), so I'm not sure what to expect.

Well your health is the priority, everything else is metal and plastic. Hope you’re now fit and well and ready to enjoy your revitalised Fazer. I suppose there’s no way of changing the throttle cables without removing the carbs, as would like to replace mine as a precautionary measure.

Changed my cables purely by chance - I'd taken the carbs out to clean them and noticed one of the cables was frayed. Best to change it before it breaks at the worst time...........
Changed as a pair.

Planning on changing them soon, as a precaution.  Would really spoil a trip if one let go whilst abroad. Not exactly a roadside job. :eek

I think it may have been easier if:
a). I wasn't rushing to do stuff between my daytime jobs
or
b). I wasn't suffering from arthritis in my hands.
hence the odd FFS.  :lol :lol

Nothing worse than having to spin too many plates, as concentration levels drop a bit I suppose. My wife suffers from arthritis in her hands, so can sympathise on that score. I now have to limit myself to one job at a time, or else nothing will get done properly :lol .

I always found fish’n’chips tasted better out of the paper. Mind you, Sunday dinner could get a bit messy :lol

If it was fish'n'chips, I'd just have vinegar. Chips on their own, no doubt mayo(blame the Belgians). Lifetime southerner, never been given the option of gravy, would have guessed more of an oop north choice. I mean the jocks offer battered Mars bars ffs.
