FZS600 Fazer / Front brakes.
« on: 28 February 2019, 08:39:41 pm »
My front brakes on my 2003 fzs600 are sticking, it's only done 8,000 miles from new. I've just wound pistons back in.re fitted. And there still binding .is it worth talking the caliper off, pulling pistons out, lightly cleaning and re fitting, WITHOUT, buying a new seal kit, which are quite expensive for both sides, if buying genuine. I've heard using 1500 grit sandpaper on pistons, and leaving old brake & dust seals in. Then just refit nice clean pistons. Any thoughts , anyone ?????

FZS600 Fazer / Bike dolley

Has anyone on here, got a motorbike dolly?
Platform with 4 castor's on it. So you can put bike on it's centre stand, and move your bike into tight spots in garage, or just spin it around. I'm thinking of getting one that's all. And would like a recommendation on one, if possible?
Cheers for any comments

FZS600 Fazer / Engine a bit clunky
« on: 23 February 2019, 03:50:27 pm »
Hi I have a fzs600 , 2003 foxeye model. Just seem to have noticed even idling, the revs, fluctuate. And the engine seens a little clunky every now and then, and seems like it wants to stays sometimes, when moving off, and it has a couple of times. It's only done 8,000 miles from new, so a mint bike really. Just about to do a oil & filter change today on it, see if that sorts it out. As shamefully haven't done one in about 4 or 5 yrs. Anyone near me, in ALTRINCHAM ,Manchester. Who could give it a good once over? Cheers if anyone could , or even reply.

FZS600 Fazer / Fzs600 carb balancing
« on: 14 June 2017, 11:41:24 pm »
Hi. I have a 2003 fzs600 with 7,000 miles on the clock only. Mint condition. And runs lovely.
My question is. Would my bike benefit from the carbs being balanced? As they've never been done. And how hard is it to do?
Or does anyone on here live close to Altrincham in Cheshire? Who could do it for me?
Any replies much appreciated,cheers Roy.

Don't see the point tbh, if a driver pulls out in front of you its a little late to give him a blast of your air horn, be something like PAAAAAAARP Bang........

I didn't have a horn on my old Kat, a mate said 'your horn doesn't work' I said 'I didn't need one' pressed the horn button and shouted 'Get out the focin way' we didn't laugh  much!

That's really helpful, NOT

If it's running sweet and has a smooth tickover without the needle jumping about, leave it alone. :-)

That's mega low mileage, hardly run in. You're just showing off!
Yeah I know, good isn't it though  :rolleyes :rolleyes

I have a 2003 fzs600 carb model
It's only done 6,500 miles from new and is in mint condition
Would I need carbs balancing ?
It's running great, just wondered if this should be done after so many miles or years ???????

« on: 22 July 2016, 09:59:15 pm »
Hi, I have the 2003 fox eye model, carb
I'm thinking of putting a USB onto bike, or cigarette style power outlet. anyone got any ideas or pics of where to position it ?
Also do I connect direct to battery, because if I do, the USB/ cigarette power light will ALWAYS be on, so how do I get round this ? Any replies gladly appreciated, cheers Roy.

Genuine yam, a rip off. The end of the day, it's just filtering air.

FZS600 Fazer / Coil & Ht leads
« on: 10 March 2016, 05:34:34 pm »
I have a 2003 fox eye fzs600
Under the petrol tank is the 2 coils. Does anyone know if the leads unscrew from the coil ?
The reason I'm asking is, I've just taken off plug caps from Ht lead, and screwed back onto the lead, but the plugs kept on turning, no tightening at all.( bike fired up , great though ) I might get away with trimming 1/2 an inch off leads, and screw caps back on, but it will be a tight one. So thought if the leads do unscrew from coil, I could simply get 4 new leads and screw caps back on.

Where did you get hids from ?
I'd need 2 with ballasts , white light not the blue one.
Bikes only done 6,000 miles on a 03 plate.  :)

« on: 09 March 2016, 11:27:25 pm »
Try getting front where off floor, and try and spin it quickly, and if you have the longest screw driver you own, put the tip of it onto brakes, or bearing area, and put your ear to handle, pressing it against it. You might hear the noise a lot more easily.you can buy stethoscopes esp for this, and they do work. Just a idea. I've tried with my car, and found problems out this way.

What you've done so far is the right route of eliminating easy stuff, another one is to remove the caps from the plugs and remove the caps from the wire, spray both ends of the cap with wd40 and the wire, thread the cap back on to the wire and replace on to the plug.
Cheers, might try that, if fuel filter and new plugs don't work

Took plug caps off today, sprayed and screwed caps back on. They don't tighten, tight onto leads do they ?
Mine just keep spinning if turned, but a,re on, as tried slightly to pull off, and wouldn't move. Tank off a t mo, as air filter on way, so don't know if problem has gone.
