I had some of the Chinese ones on my R1. Excellent kit at a stupid price.

Just a word of caution, I did read a thread some time ago that described a problem with the Chinese levers, but I can't remember what the issue was. Not something to take a chance with though!
There are often used genuine levers to be had at reasonable prices.

Well you know there were scores of riders on the R1 forum with the chinese levers and no issues.

Not the thread I remembered but I did find this....

For what it's worth, I had a problem with a brake lever I bought on Ebay. It seemed to fit, but it became apparent that it wasn't pressing the brake light microswitch properly, leaving my brake light on all the time. It may possibly have been an explanation for another biker riding into me when I stopped, as I imagine there was no change in intensity from the light when I braked as it was already on!

Watch out for that!

I have a set of chinky ones, the color did fade fairly fast but now been on for 3 years and apart from the color fade they are great.

I have seen on other forums problems with them not fitting well and causing the brake light to stay lit, or not light. Even heard of some that have caused a slight rub and warped the disk.
But I have never had first hand experience of this.
Can only say as I find and they are pretty good fit.

I did try a set of black bike-it ones. They were an awful fit and made the brake light stay on all the time. After trying 2 replacement ones they sent out I cobalt got a refund and brought the chinky ones.

I guess there's different manufacturers in china and some are good, some not so.

Another vote for Asian lever hardware, look for ebay sellers with decent feedback rep built up (3000+ sales and 98% positive)

Remember, they used to laugh heartily at Japanese metalwork when they started manufacturing bikes

Had ebay 'Chinese' levers for a couple of years now. Perfect fit, no colour fade - all in all excellent.

As said just choose a supplier with good feedback.
