« on: 15 June 2014, 03:34:38 pm »

I have had to strip out my cylinder head after a plug snapped , I'm now in the process of rebuilding it , I have the cams back in but the chain seems really tight and I cant get the rear tensioner in because the guide wont move , any info would be apprieciated , thanks. :'(

Something obviously isn't right so you should take the cams out and try again. Maybe you've got too much slack on the exhaust side.

are you attempting to reassemble with the front guide blade in place?

thanks for the reply guys , tried god knows many times but it keeps happening , I have been putting the the front guide in before assembling the cams would this stop me getting all the slack from the exhaust side and leaving it to tight to get the tensioner in  ? I just found easier to put the front guide in before the cams , I will try it without the front guide until assembled deefer666 thanks.

leave the front blade out, get your EX cam in place first pulling the slack out of the chain as you work toward the back of the engine... It'll be easier that way
