It depends massively on what sort of strat it is, how old it is, and where it was manufactured. Could be anywhere from a £80 replica to a £1000+ custom. I would probably message them personally, but I know plenty who wouldn't.

Have a look for any labels or markings around the headstock, may help to narrow down the type and model more exactly.

I've stayed in the glasshouse before which is an ok location (next door to the playhouse) and the hotel itself is nice. Can't remember how much it was though, it wasn't that cheap I so remember that :lol

I have also stayed in the number 11 hotel, and the George hotel.

The George hotel was excellent and is central but you pay for the privilege.

Would stay at any of those three again :)

For a start:

:useless

:lol

Travel can be moved by moving the brake lever round a bit one spline if it's not sitting right for you.

I painted my 600 engine with simoniz high temp spray paint. I also bought a roll of 3mm wide masking tape to keep the edges of the fins silver like OEM :)

Where abouts in the UK?

I suppose so aye. Shame for all the people who paid who will not get one now, they raised almost £2 million through Kickstarter - that's a lot of helmets!

Oh well, it appears skully have gone bust after delivering only around 50 helmets.

Oh aye, just listened to it there. That's not sounding great. A bit more than clutch rattle I would say

I can't get the video to play on my phone (iPhones are funny that way your video is not the issue) but just going by the fact you have said it goes away with the clutch pulled in I would be led to think it is just clutch rattle. Balancing the carbs and making sure the clutch biting point is set correctly can quieten it down if it's overly intrusive, but all the fazers do it to one degree or another and as I say as long as it's not too bad I wouldn't worry about it.

I should caveat this by saying it could be something else and someone who can actually hear it on the video may be able to offer a bit of more informed guidance :)

Liking the decals on the bike, did you make those yourself as I've been after a similar set

Look like Kenny Roberts "speedblock" style decals, some of the forum members have had these made in the past, I think awesome graphics still sells them, not sure if they do them in a red colour like the ones on the OP's bike.

FWIW I think the bike looks nice with what you have done, the graphics are smart.

If your struggling with a screen you might want to try one that has been cut down to the same height as the fairing, that way it will deflect the air lower and fresh undisturbed air will hit you which is not as bad as turbulent air. Looks cleaner too which may suit your tastes :)

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Peculiar 'chuffing' noise.
« on: 28 July 2016, 05:14:06 pm »
I think it's worth mentioning that when I changed from my maxxis tyres to PR4's I got the exact same noise you describe at about 30mph as well. It seemed to be coming more from the front end of the bike on mine (I have an open face helmet so it makes pinpointing a noise at speed a bit easier).

In the end I put it down to the tread pattern of the front tyre, and it has (I think anyway) gone away as the tyre has worn so i reckon Bbrown has hit the nail on the head with the front tyre tread guess, I'm 99% that's what the chuffing noise was on mine anyway.

Does it go away in neutral with the clutch pulled in? Would you call it a "rattle"? Sounds like it could be a bit of clutch rattle to me?

I think the two main point from my POV have been addressed on this thread:

1. Most parents seem to think bikes are dangerous. I've just turned 30 but have had bikes since I was 16 and the amount of times my mates parents made comments about never letting their kids on a death trap was unreal. None of them bikers themselves mind :rolleyes

The other main one for me is the amount of hoops young ones needs to jump through to get into an proper bike these days. Unless you are 25 DAS is out the window and most people younger than that simply don't have the patience to wait 2 years on a smaller bike so it puts them off altogether. In today's instant gratification mindset a 2 year waiting time is no use to most. They should be focussing on teaching proper riding techniques and advanced instruction rather than pushing engine size limits onto people IMO, but that's another thread entirely.

I only know one guy out of my entire circle of friends and workmates that rides, it's grim.

Tiger for me too. Seems to fit the commuting bill a bit better IMO and the engine is indeed a belter :)

That was my thinking too unfazed, probably slightly narrower than a gen 1

Probably just under 30" wide when on the side stand - if you don't need width to get down the side of it :)

..and yes, that's a dog shit on my rear tyre... Lovely :(
