:agree

Don't bother with the payzone bollocks though, just go on-line and do it.
That is all very well if you have the internet available, I have an Orange french phone you do well if you can get a phone signal in the uk never mind trying tolog on with the net. It is not a problem in any other country I have been to inside the EU just the UK mobile phone networks around Wirral is shite.

Sorry have to ask why did you not send the proof of NCB to your new insurer when you were taking out the policy.
I have just had my Proof of NCB today as I am re registering my bike from Spanish plates to French plates. I have had my quotes from the french insurers based on the information I supplied , I told them I have not had a claim in over 10 years . My innsuer in Spain have sent the NCB certificate. It says zero claims from 2014 to 2017. I asked them why? they said that is when we insured you from. Okay but you had my NCB entitlement certificate from the company I was insured with before joining you. There reply was you will have to ask them for that information wtf!!
I hate fucking insurance companies they will wriggle to get out of doing anything for you all they want is your money.

All done online Lew and they have not asked me for proof...just straight in with the cancellation email!!
Yeah but I am dealing with a Spanish insurance group and a French Group and no one is speaking the english to me, yes my fault for not living in the UK.. Also another con job by the Spanish is you can cancel your policy but you will not receive a refund. They say you signed a contract for a year so if you cancel you forefit. The only think they will do is if you change your bike during the year they will let you use your existing policy and for a fee will change it to suit your new bike.
Even though my bike is a to EU spec new in Spain , the certificate of conformity has to be renewed when you export/import from another EU member state. So it cost me €121 for a new certificate of conformity. The bike is exactly the same spec as a French spec bike. In Spain my MT09 ABS is the FRN29/06 in France it is the FRN29/08 what is the difference 06 is the Country Identifier 06 =Spain 08= France so €121 for that .I wonder which Brussels knob head dreamed  that one up.

eaxactly hahahha, they made about 130 folk redundant to get rid of the booths, so they are saving that way, did they lower the cost of using the crossings, doubt it. Then like me you have to go on the hunt for a payzone load of bollocks it was to makemore money by saving on wages. Last few times I have been through 4 times this yearI do not notice any difference.

fuckem they should have manned booths they used to, I have a french registered car, I have on occasion forgotten to pay, I usually do but I have never had any notification for none payment. They make a bloody fortune out of that crossing so why not keep some toll booths and give somebody a job?

that kind of money for a 15 year old bike he will be hanging on to it for a while longer, yes it looks good but the lack of use will throw up its own problems as soon as you start using it.

As said get the right gear, and certainly Tee shirt and jeans?gtf especially in France summer time. That is let's get the gravel out because it is going to be hot and the tar will melt . That way the gravel will get pressed into the melting tar so that is a road repair done.
I never go out without the proper gear. I have a Hein Gereke air tex jacket, vented front and side, full armour, Hood Jeans , kevlar and armour , summer light weith gloves carbon knuckle gaurds.when it gets to hot bike stays at home.

Have not been out on the bike now for over a week it has either been thunder & Lightening and pouring down
or this today.
It is supposed to be a lot cooler tomorrow.

40C! Where the foc are you Lew? That is the sort of temperatures that you get in Oman.
Tommy I live in SW France about 1.5 hours east of Bordeaux. That really is a bit of a cheat as the car had been sitting all day in the drive.  Once I moved off  it dropped to a chilly 35 degrees.
I was out on the bike today , I have lunch with my son in Bordeaux with my son , it was overcast today with sunny spells but a pleasent 27 degrees .

Tank range is an issue with the MT09. I have done several long haul tours Sw France to N Ireland SW France to N Wales and in March this year Sw France to the Costa Blanca. If I behave myself I can get about 265 kms /165 miles to a tank but I am nearly on vapours. If hooning it in A mode do well to get 130kms /80 miles to a tank.
But to be honest that kind of range (165) suits me as Ian starting to get numb bum by then so stopping for a fill up is welcome.
My touring setup is two Shad soft panniers 45ltr and a givi tank lock bag think that is 15ltrs.
The bike is fun to ride but has to be said the rear suspension in stock is absoultely rubbish, front is not great either. I have had it setup and I can live with it.
Next long haul is back to Noth Wales again staying at the www.oakleyarms.co.uk 16 of us from all over the UK and Ireland , me I am the long distance traveller. Looking forward to it, rollon September.

Here we go again  :rolleyes  I have nothing (much  :lol ) against MT owners who previously were here because they had Fazers sticking around for the banter etc. But if I were an MT owner, I'd want a separate forum for those bikes.

Yeah I am on that forum all it is shite.

Here ya go:

http://mt09.motorcycle-talk.com/forum/cmps_index.php

There seem to be others too. So no need for sub-forums here.
I'm not interested exclusively in Fazers when it comes to bikes, so I am a member of a non-type-specific bike forum too. What's the difficulty?
