For Sale & Wanted / FZS600 Rear Shock - 28k
« on: 03 March 2014, 09:42:15 pm »
Doing a bit of a garage clear out so selling a few bits and bobs and came across this little gem. It has done 28k and was bought as a replacement for my one (which had done 72k!) but I never got aruond to it and now i've sold the bike.

It's nice and clean, no leaks and looks to be in nice condition.

£50 + postage

PM if interested......

Have a look at the breakers yards either locally or nationally. Might find a replacement set at an affordable price

Sounds like carb icing to me. Plenty of threads on here about this so hopefully something useful has already been written for you :)

Pilot Road 2's, no contest. They last longer than the Bridgestones and Wear better with better grip on the wet. In fact, the wet grip is unreal! The PR3's are just as good but more expensive, same compound just different tread pattern

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: and the results are in!!!!

OK OK, so it was 135bhp and 71ft/lb torque, splitting hairs yeah  :lol

So, performance related mods are...

MIVV Can with baffle in
PC3 power commander and custom map
IVAN's smaller throttle flies
K&N filter

I wonder if another couple of bhp would have been freed if I took the baffle out? Chose not to as I wanted the custom map to be built based on the setup that i'd be using (ie, baffle in).

Post the power/torque curves. I get 137 (might even be 136) bhp from my modded FZ1 but would be interested to see how different the deliveries are between models

Very nice, those Audis sound awesome. And Noggy, if the beamer wanted to, he could have out braked any motorbike due to the fact he has 4 big boots in contact with the road :)

I have those same mods but with a Mivv Ghibli can (baffle still on), K&N and custom map built. Mine puts out 138hp at the wheel and the torque and power curves are as smooth as you'd ever want - the bike is a dream to ride, so smooooooooth but an animal after 7,000rpm  :D

With the baffle out that's really good,  mine's too loud with the baffle in!

Are you sure you haven't got a big hole or leak somewhere too!?! The header gaskets do wear out on FZS's

I had a lovely Fuel can on my FZS and it was the perfect balance of nice sound but not too offensive, I kept the baffle out and it passed MOT's etc etc

Very nice  ;)

Is it me or are they starting to look a little more 'proper'? My memory of the first ones I saw made me think that they look a little cheap especially when comparing to the FZ1. That one with gold forks and shiny downpipes looks good

« on: 06 August 2013, 09:27:39 am »
Yeah, once you're running past 40 - 50mph, the edge a 600 has is definately largely erroded when you're up against a mid-range type of car. Had a similar experience with an Astra VXR up my chuff on the motorway at about 60mph. Was in 4th gear ready to surprise him as traffic cleared but it didn't really work lol.

Those are the days when I wish I was riding my FZ1  :rolleyes

Wear earplugs and keep it at 70. If that is still too annoying for you then find an a road alternative :)

It's gone :(

The guy is Polish and he's taking it back to Poland with him. Less salt on the road I bet!
