I knew the GenI was a decent bike, the GenII is pretty cheap so I went for one.
I came from an electronic 180hp bike so was disappointed with the power delivery, handling was pretty sloppy and the seat uncomfy.
I've chucked a bit of cash at it and I'm now satisfied with how it goes/handles/stops.

Would I buy another.......no.
I would buy an R1 and put Renthals on, should have done that in the first place...

The GenII is a serious disappointment if your coming from a litre sportsbike.

It goes like a wet blanket under 7krpm until you chuck a pile of money at it to make it go properly 

But once its sorted it goes like a '99 R1.

I need new front calipers, what condition are yours in? Do you have some spare too? Ones off Christo's Bike?
