You think I'd do anything without her say so lol.
As soon as the dates are out for next year I'll stick them up here and we can choose which one.

I think what Ug is trying to say, is that if we all pay together we get 10% off. If not, it's full price. Maybe someone could volunteer to take monies...big ask, but possible? I'm guessing it'd be money up front some time in advance to avoid drop outs etc?

It would mean just the first ten chucking the money in. Then everyone else can just book quoting the club name.

Being a non-track day ever type of person, whats minimum requirements regarding kit etc, are leathers essential?

I would imagine they take the full amount and reimburse if you cancel within a certain timescale. If we had a responsible person(longshot I know lol) to handle the first ten bookings and give the money to MSV then that would be sufficient for their discount.
The kit is, zip together leathers, the zip must go all the way round, boots, gloves, helmet.
If you want to do it, take the morning sessions steady getting to know the track, and speed up gradually.
Take advantage of any instruction available, don't try to go over your limits, ride within them then you'll have some spare concentration if someone does something unexpected.

Right then, MSV has replied and the news is.
1.We will need 30 riders to fill a group exclusively for ourselves.
2. If we get more than 10 riders it is an automatic 10% discount.
3. This year the highest price for a weekday event at Cadwell was £99, so expect about that.
4. If it's spring time next year, their dates will be out soon.
5. We can block book via FOC-U or ring up and quote the club name.
6. The 1st option above means someone getting all the cash from all that want to go and handing it over to MSV.
Wow, that is a result, a lot has happened in the last month, as I managed to write off 59 Fazer 1000 which I bought to replace wonderful Gen 1 1000. Tail pack slipped and locked up back wheel just before Maidstone services on M20. Luckily it gave me warning so I had time to slow down and move to lane 1, then get onto hard shoulder when it started to snake. Had used this tail pack for 15 years and 1,000's of miles on a variety of bikes and never a problem! Anyway it is not more, as it and the contents were welded together and shredded. Haven't shed any tears about the bike, not a patch on Gen 1 and very thirsty, so have found a Fazer 8, so watch this space, as love Cadwell, so may be interested. 8)
Age is a question of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter!
If I had a brain I would be dangerous

you aint the only one to suffer that fate ! dek had a similar catastrophic lock up in france in 2006. Luckily he stayed upright and after a new tyre went on his merry way.

I'm still up for this.  I take it we are looking around March / April time?

Ug, I managed to get the stairs and washing machine fixed, so that shouldn't crop up to make me drop out last minute.  I just hope the day does not clash with me pointing the shed and getting my front room carpet combed.  Subject to that I'm there!

Awesome... I'm not the fastest rider and have never done a track day, but I would love to give it a try if my bike is back on the road

I have no wish to know how you treat your "front room carpet".   The thought appals me.

Not sure if they allow camping for trackdays but we'll find out when we get a date set.

from past experience the organisers want all the money up front, whether its to hire a group or the full circuit. Been involved in both and hardest part is getting the money from people, huge interest then when its time to pay low interest ! Not saying that'll be the case here, best idea is defo pick the date and everyone book on the same day to guarantee the places. Camped at cadwell few times but always chased up by security for £10/person to stop over.  Its good though to be able to wonder around the track with beer in hand !!
