FZS600 Fazer / left to loosey or right to tighty
« on: 18 March 2019, 08:37:16 am »
hi , can anyone tell me with certainty if the handle bar mirror mount thread on the clutch side of the bike is right to tighten to left to tighten.  i have a mirror stalk in it atm and its been in there a long time through winter and summers, so it will be stiff to undo as a result, but i think one of the mirror stalks is a left hand thread and the other a right, i cant recall which?
i dont want to strip the thread thinking age has made it very stiff to undo when im actually over tightening it

FZ6 / Fazer / the good news is , new bike, bad news is no red key
« on: 24 February 2019, 07:32:42 am »
so bought a 2009 plate fz6, great bike , very impressed by it, but in my ignorance was handed one key, black ! i had read somewhere about this red key but the seller said he wasnt given anything other than this key when he bought it , seemed non plussed about it ([private sale), after buying it i now am sweating as i now understand the full significance of it!!
im hoping someone can offer some ray of hope of any way to get a spare key or 3  cut ( that works :b ) without this red key ?

anybody ..... :'(

FZ6 / Fazer / hagon or other make shorter shock
« on: 20 February 2019, 02:09:56 pm »
hi guys , im considering getting the f6 but im a bit short in the leg , i hear you can either get a lowering kit or a shorter shock, i dont know what the std length of the origional shock is ? to research a shorter one, does anyone know the dimension of the OEM shock please?

also has anyone on here used a lowering kit and found any disadvantages to lowering ( sidestand ? mainstand etc) or having to lower the forks etc.

it doesnt look like the F6 seat has a lot of meat in it to begin with to have some taken out ? anyone done so ?

id appreciate any help guidance please im looking at an F6 this weekend so id like to go with some ideas of how to lower it.

id need to get the seat or stand over height down  to circa 790 mm ideally.

General / gerbing heated gloves
« on: 31 October 2018, 07:32:54 pm »
anyone used these? , im thinking about getting some this winter, the short cuff version and running from the bike battery as apposed to internal glove battery.
anyone got any experience of them ? how they perform and do you find them bulky and difficult to still feel controls and switch gear with.

does anyone else use any other brand of heated gloves? how do you rate them and would you recommend them ?

FZS600 Fazer / gear link rod ends
« on: 14 October 2018, 05:48:00 pm »
hi guys , anyone help with this.
i get very stodgy action from the gear changes following wet riding. figured out that the nylon ball socket on the ends of the gear change ink rod have ceased to self lbe and have become dry. i can temprarily lube with GT85 , cures it fine until next wet ride.
ideally i need to change these , i dont know if thats possible or if you have to change the whole gear change assy , these are £239 new or you can pick up second hand ones £25 ebay but these are likely similar age to mine and likely suffer the same issue.

im guessing its a nylon socket on the ends of the link rod that are a press fit at manufacture and are not something that can be changed without the whole assy?
any confirmation on this ?

high protection screen + 10 cm ermax for FZS 600 FAZER 98/2001
Hi all , love my fazer but the std screen is hopeless for dispersing rain off my visor, having terrible trouble with spray sitting on my visor.
is this a known issue with this bike (2001 mk 1 btw) ,  it could be just the ergonomics of my height V screen or  maybe its an issue for others too ?
wondered about getting a taller screen, has anyone tried this ermax touring screen ? if so what are your experiences with it ?
 id appreciate any replies.
