FZS600 Fazer / Re: Dead Clocks ?
« on: 03 November 2013, 08:48:23 am »
Hi everyone and thanks for the replies I changed the clocks and everything works as it should something must have shorted in the old clocks.
Only problem I have now is the new clocks read 12000 miles less so will flag up at next MOT.
Cheers

Thanks guys the connector block is clean and fully inserted, i'll have a look under the tank for any back up fuses and if not that i'll assume the clocks are goosed.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: To rebuild or break - from Malta
« on: 19 October 2013, 12:56:10 pm »
Your bike sounds pretty similar to mine rusted frame, flaking paint, pitted forks but my bike had a broken fairing.
I decided to just touch up the rust and flaking paint, live with the pitting (went over it with some aluminium foil) and streetfightered the front end with twin chrome headlights.
It has given the bike a new lease of life and smartened it up no end, my intension is to ride it for another year not spend much more money on it and upgrade to newer bike.
Unless you are going the full restoration route full strip down and rebuild and plan to keep it i wouldnt sink to much money into it.

FZS600 Fazer / Dead Clocks ?
« on: 19 October 2013, 12:38:55 pm »
My clocks aren't displaying anything
no rev counter,
no mileage,
no speedo,
no fuel gauge,
no neutral indication and no oil warning light.
The clocks still light up when lights are turned on and left and right indicator still shows as does High beam.
Ive checked all the fuses under the seat and none have blown, would it be fair to say the clocks are Kaput or could anything else cause this (the bike still runs ok)
If i buy some replacement clocks will it show the mileage of the new clocks or the mileage that the bike has covered.

Any help would be much appreciated
