Ask a local farmer.

CONVINCING a farmer sounds like hard work! Easier option might just be to move to a big house in the country, with plenty of land. ;)

Anyone heard of Blackshadow-UK or Tsuboss disc brands? Any good?

When you rake in an MP's salary, you'd probably be happy to stand there and smile and lose a little dignity in these PR stunts... prior to jumping back in your luxury Jag just around the corner, for the next fun appointment.

Take it you haven't read through the "Three word story" thread !?  :eek You really do get a (dirty) glimpse of whats on the mind of Fazer owners!  :lol  One long porn innuendo episode in a long thread.

New to the forum and biking!!

Anything i need to know off the bat?

BurnTheWitch

...yes, don't attempt to ride beyond your "new biker" abilities.
...Target fixation is a b1tch !!

Oh, plus... a Fazer is a soft sports/commuter.... it's never going to handle like a TRUE Sports bike, so don't push it !!  ;)

Have fun!

Adjustable dogbones makes so much sense. Especially if you often/occasionally have a pillion, or strap on gear for a long weekend... means handling doesn't have to be compromised!  :thumbup

Any updates? :)

The Fazer is still a bit rough from time to time, will give it new NGK caps and cut 10mm from the leads this weekend and check the drain holes. Might go overboard and do coils+regulator since I'm already messing around with it.

Got a pic of it from last weekend as well:

Great action shot!  8) Bike looks v.nice!

General / Re: Changes to the MOT
« on: 27 April 2018, 03:44:38 pm »
Elaborating :) ....

If you take the vehicle (car or bike) for an MOT WITHIN it's current MOT expiry date, and it fails on something major (deemed a "dangerous" fault) - even though your existing MOT hasn't yet expired, your vehicle IS now legally considered dangerous to drive, and you are not aloud to take it back onto the road (for example leaving the MOT centre to drive home). The Police can stop you and prosecute.

If your vehicle fails the MOT with 'Minor' faults only, you are still good to drive home or keep using the vehicle until you get it re-tested / within your existing MOT period.

- - - - - -
QUOTE:
Previously, if your car was deemed roadworthy, you could keep driving it even after it failed, provided the old MoT was still valid.

But under the new rules, the moment your car fails, it can be rated as “dangerous” - a new type of MoT category - and driving a vehicle which falls under that defect category means a fine of up to £2,500 and three points on your licence.

...Therefore for all future MOT's I'll book in the car, as well as book a taxi for the ride home!  :eek :lol

« on: 26 April 2018, 04:59:36 pm »
i would run an extra fused wire from the battery to run them

.....along with a Relay, so the Spots will only fire up, for example when the main Headlight(s) get switched on.
Depending if you want them on only with the headlights, OR at all times, in which case, finding a switched live feed.

I never used a relay on mine at all as they are only 10 watts each, I wired mine into the side light circuit (Foxeye) so any light on means the spots are on,  ignition off all off
(side lights stay on with headlights)
One thing worth noting is that they need to be able to be switched off when the headlight test is done as a part of the MOT.
I have a male and female spade connector on mine under one of the infill panels, I can reach up under the panel to unplug it for the MOT.

:thumbup  The spots that were fitted to the Fazer I bought utilised a Relay, hence my suggestion. :)  All comes down to the owner and how they want the Spots to behave. :)
I actually removed the spots + wiring on mine, as the Spots were badly weathered and a hindrance more than anything else (very poor light output / some LEDs were blown and looked chit).

General / GoKarts / offroad buggys - where could i use it "legally" ?
« on: 25 April 2018, 05:34:17 pm »
Hi guys,

I've been interested in buying a GoKart / offroad buggy for some time, something to play with, also for the educational / mechanical interest.
I don't own a field I could use it in, so what other options / locations are there??

I'm at the top of the M25, so somewhere reasonably close, however would be happy to 'cart it around' (pun intended) if needs be on a trailer.  :)

Not too big an explosion though, just enough to rip their balls off and totally shred their rectum.

You appear to have thought about it in slightly more graphic detail than what was actually necessary.  :lol

I think an Ejector seat would work well too, ideally set off as they enter a bridge (loads of those around London) - plus no explosion, so you wont have to scrub off remnants of balls and rectum from your Head (motors head) !!

bigger front sprocket nut is the number one mod ;)

^ While there, drop in a new front Sprocket with less teeth for more rapid acceleration. ;)

The gauge is whether you can run your fingernail over the "blemish" and you feel a ridge (through the lacquer/paint finish = more work), or its still flat (in which case it'll polish and buff out).

Sorry did you say rolling your bike back? Dread to imagine what damage you'd be capable of, if you found 1st gear !!  :lol ;)

General / Re: Audi style Flowing Indicators
« on: 23 April 2018, 01:48:23 pm »
I think they are a childish sutpid gimmic and maybe that is why they are on Audis -- to try and get the drivers to use them.

(Think they look ok on a bike though so long as they are nice and bright)

I actually think DLRs (Daylight Running Lights) are also a gimmick - the chavvy twinkly lights - yet the government have introduced a law in this country, all new vehicles will have them!
If you drive a motor vehicle and cant see a 2 tonne mass of metal coming towards you (WITHOUT DRLs - of "AUDI size"), you shouldn't be behind the wheel in the first place!  :eek

Update!
After a bit of drying in the Mediterranean sun, bike now seems to be running as normal again, more than likely it was caused by water around the plugs/cables.

...

I had a similar experience after a wash. However after the bike had been ridden for a few hours, all the wetness around the Leads/Plugs had dried up, then she was running SWEET again... Doesn't take much to end up with water around there, just washing with a regular bucket and cloths.

But it wasn't daviee that pointed out the GSXR reference (with a magnified X50 size screenshot), that was Triggergee !!  :lol

Unless daviee just fcuked up, and it was him, the same person using multiple FOC-U Forum accounts. lol. Perhaps a Scooter would be safer bet (MOBILITY Scooter).  :lol

I thought they just pushed it along with a stolen scooter? :(

That's it. The focus should be on physically making the bike as difficult as possible to take away.

Perhaps the OP is concerned about when ON the bike, and getting bikejacked?
