600 losing power suddenly
« on: 08 April 2012, 10:07:23 pm »
Hi folks, i recently bought an fzs600s, all is well driving it sensibly, but when i open the throttle in any gear as soon as it gets to around 9000rpm and all the way up to the limiter it sometimes just abouts stops! as if ive shut the throttle for a second and opened it right back up again.
Any ideas?

Hi sd1
I'm unlikely to be any help on things mechanical, but have you checked out the 'FZS600 stuttering' thread in this section?  Sounds like there's a few things to check with plugs, leads, connections, carbs and fuelling  :smash
If nothing in that thread is of any help then I'm sure someone will be along soon with more help  :)

have you had the tank up recently? beather pipes can get kinked, leading to fuel starvation at higher revs...

Thanks, ill have a read, mines isnt a stutter as such, its more like ive switched the key off and back on again whilst at full throttle, near throws me of the front of the bike, then near of the back again as it goes.
Ive checked and replaced plugs, im waiting on the guy i bought it from getting back to me about parts etc, ill check tps etc today though, im thinking its needing a full carb clean though, i have no idea if it stood all winter or not i only bought it on thursday past.
Fingers crossed, ill keep you all informed.
