Introduction / Re: New FZS600 guy from Peterborough

T'is fitted with a pipercross filter, and a light tint screen (anyone after a cheap blue one as I have it kicking around). The previous-previous owner fitted hyperpro fork springs and shock spring too as he said it suited his weight a bit more and stopped it bottoming out. Sure helps in the corners and feels a bit closer to my old CBR.

Maybe just the indicators for now. I actually like the look of the standard ones but definitely looking at clear dark smoke lenses e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360480887821?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I haven't found a set of aftermarket ones yet which don't seem to stick out like a sore thumb. Standard ones might be big and boxy, but they usually fade into the background.

I'd heard that the later Fazers come with stainless (still painted) downpipes, but that the welds (stupidly) aren't stainless. I've already looked into it as it was something I did to the CBR fairly easily. Keeping my eye out for a bargain to stick in the shed till the time that they're needed  :D .

For Sale & Wanted / FZS600 chrome crash bars
« on: 26 April 2013, 08:42:20 pm »
Hi there guys an' gals,

I have a set of chrome crash bars that I've just taken off my '03 600 and wondered if they'd do for anyone. Could do with a clean/wire brush and a polish, but they're intact, not dropped and fairly clean.

£20 plus postage.

Cheers

Evenin',

I'm going to have to leave it at the mo, maybe look for one at a later date (nothing to do with the wife...honest... :)  ) I might just look at getting mine sprayed for the money as well. If I didn't already have one, I'd bite your hand off, not much help to you though.

Hope you find a home for it.

Hi mate,

I may be interested as I have a blue hugger fitted to my 03 fazer at the minute but was looking to swap it for a black one if the right person wanted a swap that is :-) . If I can't find a swap I may just sell mine on.

I'll have a look at the bike in the morning and weigh up whether I should or not (technically, the wife's banned me from altering me bike, as I've only just picked it up and I promised her I wouldn't mod it yet).

Thanks for the welcome, and it is the fastest colour... red is sooo 90's

The sun shone all day Saturday when I picked her up, and so far, most of this week.

Now all I've got to do is stopping looking at modifying the hell out of it and I'll be cured. Really, it doesn't need a slightly louder exhaust. Nor does it need clear indicator covers. Or angel-eyes for that matter..... but they'd all look/sound so good  :D

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Wee bit of help.

Hi Stevie,

Where were you thinking of selling it and for how much? I've got a blue one fitted at the minute and was looking for a black one. I'm on an '03 600.

Cheers,

Hi guys and gals,

I've been watching the forum (and occasionally posting) for a while in anticipation of picking up my '03 Fazer 600 this weekend just gone. T'is a lovely bike and taking some getting used to after having a 2000 CBR600F. Not better or worse, just different  :)

Hoping to get out a little more this summer as compared to last (blasted rain). I'm based in Peterborough if anyone locally wants to meet up for a ride out.
Anyway, as  :useless , here goes.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: FZS600 Fairing Decals.

Have you tried Image Works, they do replica standard decals as well as race replica stuff. They did all the graphics for one of the guys on another forum's SP1. Not had any personal dealings with them but heard good things.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: NEEDED DOWN PIPES FAZER 600 REG 03
« on: 15 April 2013, 10:32:28 am »
I know that this is a first post for me, so hear me out before dismissing it :)  I've just sold my CBR600Fx (picking up my '03 Fazer 600 at the weekend) and belong to the CBR6ER's forum and the guys on there said not to touch Sandy Bike Spares for headers with a barge pole. Apparently they destroy the CBR's midrange.

I took this advice and bought a set of Delkevic's on t'bay and they were fantastic. I've also heard very good things about the Venom sets from Motad, especially about them being more OEM than others.

Delkevic haven't got anything currently ebay, but I'm sure an email would turn something up.

I called Motad about my CBR Venom pipes and they quote £162 shipped, though can't remember if that included gaskets. They did have them online a week before mine blew for £124... gutted I was :)

Hope this helps
