Title: Stickers
Post by: 1967fazer on 20 March 2012, 08:28:11 pm
This may have been mentioned before, but what are the chances doing some stickers of some sort? I was out on Sunday and saw several Fazers about, would be good if we had an identifying sticker so we know when some one else is in the club. Any thoughts on this subject or has it been discussed before?

Someone used to do them years ago but it dies out. Maybe the best design would be the frankenfazer banner as I'm sure Aegis wouldn't mind his design being used.

Do I take it the Frankenfazer logo is the one at the top?

That's better, how small could you do the tuning fork logo?

About 50 mm height would fit on the fairing above the brake light on the FZS600, dunno if it would be too wide/if it can be made though...

Wasn't there a big hoo ha about us not being able to use the tuning forks on a logo? Copyright or something? Before Laura prints anything?

Don't think so. Anyway we're 'unofficial' ;)

Hilarious as it is, I don't think a text-speak "Fuck You" on the back of the bike is likely to help me talk my way out of a ticket when going through the roadside interview routine with a traffic cop. Nor encourage a sympathetic response from other road users towards bikers in general.

I suppose this would remove ambiguity and add credibility to any explination, the positioning would have to change though as it might be too long

fazerman we have been foccers for years, and if you look at the ford focus lot, they play around with it as well, so its a well known thing, and at the size you are looking at not many people will actually notice it while driving anyway - unless they have amazing vision or i make them in flourescent !!

Post by: DryRob on 22 March 2012, 04:44:31 pm
Actually, I need one of these about 25 x 160 mm in black, do you do them?
Title: Re: Stickers
Post by: ghostbiker on 06 April 2012, 06:06:28 pm
i had a set of these knocked up for my bike
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y270/ghostbiker/Fazer/bmf/IMGP0062.jpg)

and then i sell these at the BMF shows. i had loads made up a couple of years ago. they work great on screens or topbox's or anywhere smooth.

The great thing about OMF though is you can get the customised to colour that works best on your bike and even add in your username etc.
I also made up a bunch of cards that i tend to hand out at bike meets and the BMF to.... and pens.... and a banner..... and a tatto.... ok last one was a lie :P but i did shave it in to my hair for the last bmf show :P

Will be getting in touch with you Ghostbiker about some of them there stickers, just as soon as I actually have some spare cash! Could they be done in flourescent yellow?
Title: Re: Stickers
Post by: ghostbiker on 09 April 2012, 06:36:21 pm
As i said, i only have some i knocked up in silver. thinking about it they are a smaller font than the ones on my  screen in the picture. prob about 2/3 the size

but OMF (oldmotherfoccer) on this forum can do them any size/font you like and has a wide range of colours available

dryrob, are they the fairing stickers you need ??

still need a measurement of the ideal sticker size ? then will be able to sort some for the BMF for people
Title: Re: Stickers
Post by: DryRob on 16 April 2012, 01:21:45 pm
If it's not too much trouble, can I have it in black vinyl please?
It's to go above my brake light so I need it to be 100 mm wide with the fork logo kept as a circle.
If you can do it PM me to sort price, payment and delivery.
I'll let everyone know if I get pulled over for it.

Hi everyone,
This is my first post, as I'm still finding my way around the site and seeing what's already been posted etc. There's some great stuff on here!  8)
Regarding the designs posted in this thread, and just in case some members may not be aware of this, the official Yamaha 'Tuning Fork' logo has two different designs depending on if it's used for the music or motors divisions of the company.
The ones used above are for the music division, as the tuning fork tips sit INSIDE the outer circle.
The motors division logo has the tuning fork tips sitting ON the outer circle.
Hate to be pedantic (... :D !), but I work for Yamaha and it kinda annoys them when the logos get mixed up! As far as copyright goes, the usual caveats apply...  ;)

Nice comebacks!  :D :D
As for being a 'foccin expert'......! :D  Far from it, apart from what I've picked up riding bikes for forty years (is 52 old?! ;) )Besides, an (e)x is a non-entity and a spert is a drip under pressure....!
Even worse, I was also a pro musician for many many years, and yes, I DO own several Yamaha six stringers as well as me Fazer Thou......! :z :D :D
The designs look good to me by the way. (I'm also an ex graphic designer and printer.....!!!) :z :z :z :D
I'll get me coat shall I...! ;) :D

I'd have one. Almost as useful as the one I had on my old red Fazer.

I find a nice bright headlight is much better, they'll often move over just to get it out of their mirror :)

I have one of the old stickers on my number plate , its been there for years , but I was watching the tv and on one of the police chase crash programmes the gave some one a ticket for stickers on the number plate plus they had tampered with the spacings

anyone know if its legal for stickers ?

Personally I wouldn't bother putting anything on your number that shouldn't already be there, too tempting for plod to give you a tug and start hastling you about it. There's plenty of other placesto put it.

I'm too busy watching the idiot cager in front to notice the MAKE of bike I'm nodding at most of the time! I'd never spot a sticker in a million years...

spoonlamp - the idea of the stickers is normally to promote the forum so people see it when the bike is parked up, also when people are at meeting places like bourton on the water, ace cafe etc, people can "watch out theres a foccer about" :lol

I'll throw my proverbial in the the proverbial....

But i could do something a little more conventional if demand is there.
I'll happily use my graphic design powers for good, but i can't print stuff.

OK, a more serious/modest attempt at something we might actually want to use.

The idea is that it comes in either black or white printed on a round transparent sticker.

I'll keep print-quality files to hand should it be wanted by the group.

Erm, your more serious attempt has got the wrong tuning fork!!  :lol . The transparent backing is a good idea though, guaranteed to match your bike, or if its going in your tax disc holder, you can stick whatever flag you want on the back.

That depends on which one is correct. There are a number of different ones (https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1368&bih=853&q=yamaha+motorcycle+logo&oq=yamaha+motor&gs_l=img.3.6.0l10.696.4008.0.7656.16.12.2.2.2.0.153.889.11j1.12.0....0...1ac.1.54.img..0.16.905.0bERFuwZu1c).

If you can do them in tax disc size, Id have one.

Easy enough. I can just post up a printable file which you can then print on a home/work printer, cut out and then insert.

Problem there is it would mean everyone having to buy a pack of clear sticky backed paper just to print off one label. Might be better if someone could do them and post them out for a price that covered the costs. ;) ;) ;)

See here (https://db.tt/21aezxSo) for a sheet of 6 on A4.
If your printer asks if you want it scaling to fit, select NO.

Sample:

If there's enough interest in the proper transparent stickers, then i guess we could get some pre-paid/pre-orders going to cover the initial cost of printing a batch + envelopes + stamps and i'll just send them out.

At least we now have a use for the tax disc holders...
