if you get the latest oxford ones, the £70 type you can connect straight to the battery as they turn off if you forget :)
-
The Datatool grips go straight to battery too, fancy electronics inside to stop them working unless bike ignition is on too.
-
I wired mine through a relay and connected it to back brake light switch feed so they come on and off with ignition
-
Thanks Gerk, I've got the R&G grips...

The "Dr Bike (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DR-BIKE-HEATED-GRIPS-MOTORCYCLE-MOTORBIKE-KEEP-WARM-UNIVERSAL-FIT-HAVE-HOT-HANDS-/130629187694?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1e6a1b386e)" heated grips are made by the same place that makes the oxford ones, and the version 1.0 kit (linked) comes with the analogue controller (doesn't auto-on, with ignition) and has an easy to use analogue controller (unlike the v2.0 and Oxford grips). And lastly they can be had from £30-40 brand new.

I have a set on my Bandit 1200 along with a par of modded(I trimmed the end sleeve down a bit and used the bar-end bolt to secure them) Tech7 handlebar muffs (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=suzuki+Tech7+handlebar+muffs&_from=R40|R40|R40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XTech7+handlebar+muffs&_nkw=Tech7+handlebar+muffs&_sacat=0).
