FZS600 Fazer / Boxeye fairing and lamps
« on: 17 August 2013, 02:30:51 pm »
Hi guys, my 2000 boxeye has been vandalised by mindless fools. The nose fairing and headlight unit is smashed beyond repair. Finding a new fairing seems to be near impossible. I was wondering if the foxeye fairing and lamp unit is easily compatable with the boxeye fairing frame or would it all need changing?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Advice on painting & decals.
« on: 02 May 2013, 12:21:33 pm »
When doing my paint i sanded down to bare surface material on areas that needed filling/repairing. Let it go off. Wet and dry sand it till smooth. I found that areas that didnt need repairing just removing the laquered finish was enough. Used a coat of primer on filler and bare plastic/metal. Then the colour of choice. Giving a rub over with very very very fine wet & dry (use wet) between coats and a couple layers of laquer to finish. I applied any decals...etc before laquering but that was personal choice.18 months on still looking good.

Having recrntly resprayed my tank i can confirm theu are laquered over stickers. Sanding and respray is the eaiest thing to do.

Hey guys. Im after the headlight fairing and right side infill for a 2000 fzs600. Got hit off last week and all my hard work for the respray has been ruined. Mines repairable but think its time to invest in some new plastics. Colours not an issue. Please help.

Hi guys. After getting too up close and personal with a badger i find myself requiring a new front fairing. Too many pieces missing to bother trying to repair it. Does anyone have one lying about they want to get rid of? Not worried about colour or scratches. Just dont want to be spending a fortune either. Any help would be grest. Thanks.

Once down it should stay down until its kicked up which the spring is there to pull all the way up.

Tried the above. Locked the bars and gradually increased how hard a was "tapping". Problem is i bought the bike with only 7000 miles on it and dont think the pins had been out in 12 years. Guessing i might just have to bite the bullet and gwt the calliper off

FZS600 Fazer / rear hugger
« on: 14 August 2012, 04:45:12 pm »
Whilst doing the brakes today i whipped off the hugger to clean up the chain guard only to find 5 holes drilled through the top of the swinging arm an inch or so apart. From past experience i know huggers can warp and rub so i assume someone decided to spread the tension to pull it square again. Am i right in being concern though that this has seriously weakened the swinging arm?

FZS600 Fazer / calliper slider pin stuck
« on: 14 August 2012, 04:32:05 pm »
Hi guys. I went to clean up my calipers and change pads today only to find that the slider pin on one of the front ones is well and truely stuck. Seals are all good and im useless at bleeding brakes and want to avoid completely take it off. Im lamped and tried abit of oil and nothing (and yes i took the 2 R clips off first). Any suggestions that avoid taking it off or paying the shop to do it?

My 2000 fzs was my first "proper" bike as the father in law put it and i love it. Great for everyday commuting. I paid 1200 for mine 6 months ago with only 7000 miles on it. Already put 10000 on it. I have no issues with it but invest in the usual bad weather bits. Extender fender. Maybe fork gators. Heated grips. Look after it and it will not let you down!

From past arguments with MOTers the basic rule is "if its there its got to be working!"
