What advantage would that be?

Pleased the bike is ok, nobody wants problems with their prized Fazer!
Please post any conclusions if you find there was a problem to help others, thanks.

Could be water in fuel? Should clear itself soon if that's the case.

Thanks for the replies everybody! Getting used to the bike now, fitted an alarm and heated grips so I can still joy ride when it's a bit nippy! Wife hasn't come round to it yet tho, still getting grief, but they don't like to see us enjoying ourselves do they?

I tapped into my headlight live, which only works when the ignition is on obviously, but have now ordered a relay for £1.99 on Ebay, saves a lot of strain on the electrical circuit. 4 wires, 1 Live to Battery, 1 Ignition live, such as headlight circuit or brake switch, 1 ground and the other for your Heated grips, simples!

Yer, that's what I mean, but use the brake switch wire as the ignition live.

Hmmm, seems to be too much current draw on that Green wire, I think it's cos I have the twin headlight mod, so it means the 2 headlights and grips are drawing from the same power source, I have ordered a relay now, and will consider wiring to the fromt brake switch live as apparently recommended by Honda for Heated grip wiring.

Thanks, just fitted my Oxford hot grips today direct to the battery, already left them on several times, so will re-wire the Poitive to that green wire I think!

Having just bough an FZ6, and seeing it hadn't been serviced for 2 years, (only done 4000 miles since tho), I was tempted with this kit, then found it was cheaper to buy the bits seperately!
Same site do the same Oil and Filter for £27.99, got 4 x NGK Spark Plug Iridium £26.12 on Ebay, and an Air Filter on Ebay for £15.70 Total= £69.81
Also gone for Castrol coolant so I can change it as I can't find any evidence of it being changed in the service history, 8 years old, 19k on the clock.

I can recommend those crash bungs after a similar incident myself, bike went over, bungs stopped any damage except scratches to the wing mirror casing, which hit the ground 1st.

Tony, from Leicester. Not owned a bike for 30 years, and that was a Honda CG125, was going to up to a 250 or 400 Superdream at the time, but had a company vehicle, so wasn't getting the use, so sold it instead.
Now, having just turned 50, have a couple of mates who recently bought bikes, I thought, go for it, so got me a FZ6s to play on! The comments are mainly "Going back to your youth Tony", but I reply, it's more of a mid life crisis.
Anyway, still getting used to the bike, been on a few long burn outs with the 2 biker mates, dropped it once, but getting there!

Haha, at the rate we were riding at, don't think we were getting 55 MPG, half a tank went in 2 hours, but think I'll guide the reserve at around 20 miles to be safe, cheers.

Thanks Grahamm, just been on my 1st decent run on it, great peice of kit. Managed to drop it once, back brake locked coming up to a junction at very low speed, need to be wary of that in the future, no damage done as it had the crash bungs on fortunately!
Anyone know how many miles you can do on reserve, I know it's 3 litres, but how many miles will that get me?

Cheers.

I just bought an 04 FZ6, was originally looking for an earlier model, but after seeing the FZ6 under seat twin exhaust system as opposed to an exposed chrome exahust, it convinced me 04> was the one to go for.

Just bought an FZ6 after 30 years non biking, gave it a good wash on Sunday, took it for a spin, and had the same problem! Was panicking thinking I had bought a pile of shite, after an hours run, just got home, it cured itself, so was guessing it may have been something due to the wash.
Then searched on the internet, found this thread on, which assured me everthing was ok, which it is now, must get water in somewhere which shorts a switch.
