Not this year, spent too much money this year already

58
Great day out, wouldn't be a Lofo ride without some kind of drama...............

59
Kit, Robbo, I live about halfway between the Dartford Crossing and D's Diner, so my first thought would be to meet at The Dick Turpin Pub on the A127 at or just after 9am, then ride up through the lanes to D's.

Alternatively we just all meet at D's.

There are no distinctive stopping places on the A12 between the M25 and the Boreham Interchange, otherwise I would have suggested meeting somewhere on the A12.

60
OK 9.30 suits me, if you want I'll sort a route up through Essex and Suffolk to miss most the boring A12/A14 as this is my manor.

61
I'm up for this one, Paul what way are you planning to circumnavigate the metropolis?

Was working in South Africa so took the opportunity Back in May to do 6 day tour out of Cape Town on a mixture of gravel and tarmac roads with quite a few mountain passes. a few photos but struggling to load them.

Then at the beginning of August a week touring in the Ardennes and Luxembourg.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Gen. 2 wheels in a Gen.1?
« on: 04 August 2018, 12:42:14 am »
I think you need to consider the disc diameter on the front wheel if you are using the Gen1 forks,  as the Gen1 Discs have 6 bolt fixing and 298mm Diameter vs 5 bolt on Gen2 and 310/320mm Diameter discs as standard. So the caliper won't be allow the larger discs of the Gen2.

Yes I was hoping to keep the original forks as personally I don't find anything wrong with them, sounds like this could get expensive! :)

I'm running 99 R1 forks and  ended up sourcing caliper spacers from a company in the US, they were fairly expensive at £170 but allows me to run 230mm disc.
I spoke a few UK companies that used to make the spacers but none were willing to machine anymore.

Not exactly today but in May was lucky enough to do a short 6-day guided tour around the Western Garden Route from Cape Town, lots of gravel passes and stunning views, bike was a 1200 Tenere, incredible bike got me through difficult conditions with its ABS and traction control.

Most of the photos taken by my guide who is also a professional photographer

Would do, but I'm on the way back from holiday that weekend. September?

Definitely sometime in Sept. only problem can't set a date as my management only want to make up their mind as to business travel 30 seconds before they want us to board a plane to fly to the other side of the world, so asking for travel plans this far in advance taxes their brains too much.

If you don't mind coming to Wales I've got plenty of rides. Anything from 20 minutes to 8 hours.

Would love to get back to Wales some time, but as I've only been home for about 20 days since middle of last December want to keep it local to me

Definitely take up your offer sometime in the future and I'm sure we could get a small group of LoFos down for a weekend.

LoFos' Just found out I'm going to be in country on the weekend 7/8th July, anyone fancy a blast out.

Looks like this will be my only available weekend until at least mid-September so wouldn't mind meeting up with some of you ugly lot again.

Don't mind where, just need someone to arrange a route.

73
As I intimated last week at the Ace, I will be away that weekend and won't be back in the UK until the 5th June
