Didn't take any pics but the wife and I watched from our garden. Saw a few and the space station fly by.

I reminded her that this time last year we were lying back, watching the same stars, drinking champagne, on the bow of a narrowboat, on the Mon-Brec canal, on our honeymoon.

Man I'm smooth!  ;)

It peaked last night but there should be some around tonight. Look north and slightly west for the origin (in the constellation of Perseus, hence their name), but they pretty much appear all over.

You need to set your lens to infinity if it's a dslr, auto focusing can be a nightmare, unless the moon is out and you can get a decent focus on that which helps.

It's peak was last night, but it's possible to see them until 24th august. No, no Orion as far as I know! :)

Yeah had mine on MF but dunno about infinity, I'd have to check the book! It's a canon 600D and it was using the standard 18-55mm lens.

Stepped out the back door for a fag before going to bed about midnight and saw one fly overhead.  Got the camera and tripod out, set it all up and sat there for another 30 minutes and saw nothing.  Decided to give up, took the camera off the tripod and another one flew over.  Bugger!

Ahh you don't have a window showing you infinity on that lens :( Manual and as good as your eyes will let you is the only way then I'm afraid!

I was going to watch the meteor shower, but then I saw some suspiciously large plants walking around...

True, but when it's sunny I don't think there's a more beautiful part of Wales. You're a lucky guy to call it home.  ;)
