I read the Merc battery article as well. It really is nuts isn’t it. I watched a programme a good six months ago, how JCB have gone such a long way with hydrogen engines, apparently only really suited to larger vehicles, heavy plant, trucks, buses etc. If I remember correctly the bottom half of their current diesel engines remained the same, and diesel mechanics would be able to do a conversion course, to work on/maintain the hydrogen engines. Haven’t heard much since.
