I have this one fitted. Am a similar height to you and travel to work on a dual carriageway. I find this one does help and is better than stock but I had it given to me as an extra when I bought the bike earlier this year. The price seems a bit steep but there may be some 2nd hand ones around if you're lucky.

Maybe just the plugs. But I changed the coils jic. They were all, new and old, within the resistance check but I had bought them anyway. The bike ran better, or seemed to, after I had just changes the LHS two. And one of the plugs was outside the gap check. (0,7mm) So maybe that was it. I just didn't want to do the job twice.  :eek

With the new plugs and both centre coils replaced with tested second hand ones, she's back to been the bike I bought earlier this year. Went for a 15 mile test ride and had no issues, apart from forgetting about the average speed cameras near Beverley.  :'( Fingers crossed.

Fixed the stuttering at 3-5k revs.  :) New plugs and 2nd hand coils for the two centre pots. Now she's
ready for the trip to Selkirk next weekend.  :b

New plugs will be fitted tomorrow and I will look at getting some tested, second hand coils, JIC.

Then we will see how she goes.

Did do while the PC3 was getting serviced. Unfortunately the issue didn't go.  :'(

But now the PC3 is back on it is definitely when the bike is warm. Not as severe as before bit when the bike is warm the stutter is definitely there.

Checked the coils tonight but my multi meter could not accurately read the primary coil resistance. They all read high though. The secondary coil readings were all fine. I didn't check the plugs.

If it is the thermostat sensor how do I check to see if there is an error code and then clear it?

BTW the bike has a Leo Vince stubby fitted.

Thanks,

Fitted the auto Tutoro under the main seat on the RHS used the curved mounting bracket so the unit sits vertically with the top just flush with the frame. Ran the tubing in front of the shock and clamped it to the LHS frame, including the excess tube.

Then ran the solo tube on the inside of the main frame just above the chain.

Works a treat and easy to fill, plus you can see when its getting low.

If you want photos of the installation let me know.

Just having an issue with my new, to me, FZ1. Was working perfectly but since last Monday it stutters / gags in low gears between 2K-5K rpm. Once it gets going its fine. Initially I thought it was the PC3 but that has been back to Dynojet and apart from a reset and the latest software it is okay. Re-fitted the PC3, after loading the original map, but the problem is still there. Not as noticeable but still there.

After searching the net I'm looking at checking the coils but is there anything else that I need to consider based on that vast knowledge out there.  :)

Regards.

Swapped my Tcat for  gen 2 fz1s. TBH I don't think I need to do anything to make it faster.  :b Just added a bellypan & front fender extender. Mind you it did have a few things already upgraded.  ;)

On bike every day to work this week. Missed all of the rain that was promised as we live on the east coast of Yorkshire.  :) A little chilly this morning but fortunately the gritters hadn't been out.

Bike was ACF'd before I bought it and standing up well to the wet weather. Belly pan just waiting for decals then that's my upgrades done for now.  :b

In the shed tomorrow as I can't fit the 24 butties for work in the top box.  :eek If I could I'd be on the bike.  :lol

Not too bad. Apparently it is legal, with the baffle in but it is a tad louder than the akrapovik end can I had on the Tcat. Wakes the neighbours up when I leave / come home from work. At least kettle's on when I'm in the house after putting the bike away.  :lol Plus its a lot closer to me when I'm riding so I have to have  the music turned up a little louder.

But does sound awesome.  :guitar

Nice interesting discussion.

I'm in the process of selling my Tcat, that I've had for 6 years and 26k miles, and can confirm that the frame and swing arm are steel. Which does make it a heavy thing.
The Fz1S that I have just bought is a lot easier to man handle into and out of the garage. The riding position is a lot better as well, now I'm getting on a bit.  :b

Loved the Tcat though, unfortunately she has to go.  :(

Hi. I was searching the web looking for information on FZ1S as I recently purchase a nice 57 plate example. Fount this site and thought why not join.  :thumbup

It came with a full set of Givi luggage, a Leo Vince exhaust system, a power commander 3 and replacement links on the rear suspension. I'm currently getting used to the extra power available after upgrading from my 2001 Thundercat.  :rollin

I have ordered a belly pan and front mudguard extension as this will be my main mode of transport to work and for my yearly trips to Scotland. Hopefully they will keep some of the road crud off the front of the bike.

She has 18600 on the clock and rides well. Need to tweak the suspension a bit to get it more to my licking. (Currently a little soft)

Here are a few photos of the bike.
