So, Foccer's, After a little input of your collective opinions, knowledge and experience. Had a little unexpected windfall. A PPI claim that was rejected in 2012, suddenly out of the blue was re-investigated and awarded in my favour. Something I learned that disgusted me, was that 20% of my compensation was deducted at source for the Taxman. Bastards. Anyway, I digress. I have put aside £1500-£2500 for a second bike but can't make up my mind and would like some input from you. My list so far is... Busa, early unrestricted model R1, early carbed model XT 660 R or X WR 250-450 KTM EXC 250-450 DRZ 400 Jap 80's strokers RD 350 YPVS TDR 250 TZR 250 RG 250 You see my dilemma ? At the moment I am leaning more towards an XT 660 R What would you Foccer's go for or is there something else you would throw into the mix ?

So, Foccer's, had a bird strike today, a hard one, thought it was a pheasant so went back to retrieve it (mmm, lunch) Noticed my speedo had stopped working but then started again, my fuel gauge mysteriously went down to quarter tank from 3/4's and my front indicators had stopped working. Also broke my n/s fairing infill. The main strike was on the h/light cover then it glanced off and hit my knee. Anyway, when I got back to the spot I had hit it, to my dismay it wasn't a pheasant but some kind of bird of prey. Obviously I was a bit gutted to have hit such a beautiful bird but couldn't really identify what species it was. Can anyone on here throw some light on this for me and identify it ?

Hi Foccer's, Ever since I've owned my gen 1, the clutch has always felt heavy. I've tried lubricating many times and it's felt better for a while but ultimately goes stiff pretty quickly. I'm always squeezing other bikes clutch levers and they always feel so light compared to mine. My local bike shop has got a couple of gen 1's in atm and after feeling how light the clutches were on them I've finally bit the bullet and bought a new oem clutch cable. Now I haven't even had the tank up yet to see how awkward it's going to be to thread through the engine but I'm imagining it's going to be tricky. I'm thinking of taping the new and old together end on end and pulling the old one out from the bottom in the hope that it pulls the new one through with it. Anyone got any tips for me or am I making a problem of something that doesn't exist ?

Not including the Fazer of course. I don't know about any of you but I got a little hot under the collar looking at these lot. Only one I've not ridden was the NSR. How I wish I had kept my 500LC, bought it for £500 from someone's back garden where it had been standing for over a year. Had to pull it out from the brambles that had grown up through it but a trip to the steam cleaners, set of second hand forks and some fresh petrol saw it fire into life with that sweet burble from it's 4 exhausts and that distinct smell of two stroke. Ahh, the memories. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201188226315?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITGranted they all look a bit dated now but with a bit of fettling......

Popped into my local dealer and there it was .... T reg 99 unrestricted Busa with only 5k on the clock. An itch that I've wanted to scratch for a long time now and as far as I could tell apart from braided hoses totally bog standard and unmolested. This model I think is going to be a future classic but what put me off was the lack of decals on the fairing. Always makes me suspicious when I see this and makes me wonder why they are missing. I know some people just remove them but I can never understand why. Asking Price was £3500 and was booted with conti's which made me reluctant to take it out. (unless anyone knows otherwise) As I'm looking round it, in walk's Shane Shakey Burne who starts telling me how much fun he's had on one of these and proceeds to try and talk me into it. (Didn't need that while having a weak moment). I'm pretty sure in ten years time these early Busas are going to be making silly money. What do you think Foccer's ?

Anyone planning on going to the Military Odyssey at Kent County show ground Detling this weekend ? My daughter, sisters and mother are all taking part in the south east home front re-enactment simulating a rescue from a bombed out house which I must say after watching it today was quite thought provoking and a little bit emotional. They have managed to make it look so real and have put so much effort into re-creating a mock up of an underground tube station during the blitz. Had the awesome sight of the two Lancaster bombers and spitfires fly directly over and there is a full scale battle on the lower field with tanks and other military vehicle with a spitfire doing strafing runs overhead. Well worth a visit and not just 2nd world war scenario's There is also a Viking village, complete with long boat. Crusade battles and them pesky yanks playing out the American civil war. Even got a live .22 rifle range you can have a go on. Anyone up for it. ?

Hello local Foccer;s, I know it's short notice but subject to weather Today, Sunday the 20th. I may well be be having a little ride down to Ramsgate to see a good local ska band at 16.00 at the Belle View, Pegwell Bay. Ramsgate. Guaranteed to be a good fun gig at a great little venue overlooking the sea and if the weather holds out a good fun ride down there. If anyone is up for this pm me and we'll arrange a meet.

Hi Foccer's. Got a gen 2 genuine Yamaha touring screen for sale if any one is interested. Have got one that I use on my gen 1 and it is the best screen I've tried by far. There is no wind blast to your chest or shoulders making high speed touring very comfortable. I bought it to replace my adapted one when it gave up the ghost but that's not going to happen yet so thought I'd offer it on here. It's in very good condition, although there is a small mark on the bottom right hand corner I think. These very seldom come up second hand and are expensive to buy new. . I want £50 incl postage or make me a sensible offer. Will post pics later if anyone is interested. Cheers Dazza.

So, went for a little ride today and whilst committed into a corner I ran over what I thought was a bit of road kill. I thought it felt a bit hard but didn't give it a second thought. Until I got home that is and noticed some damage to my headers. My question is, will this affect the way the bike runs? I didn't notice any difference but look's a bit unsightly. What do you think Foccers?. As you can see, something's given them a fair old whack, probably made worse by the headers being so hot

Hello Foccer's, committed the cardinal sin and succumbed to turning the pressure washer in the direction of the Fazer. Only really concentrated on the gunk that's been flung off my chain but did give it a light once over. Since then, every time I turn the ignition off, the clock and trip counter resets to zero. Now I think I remember reading that the best electrical connection to check is under the left hand fairing infill. Can anyone confirm this for me ? Thanks. Dazza.
