Hole in one...exhaust!
« on: 23 January 2014, 08:22:23 pm »
Went for a spin on the bike today to visit a mate, he re-builds wheels for vintage machines, etc.
When i was leaving, he came out to bid me toodle-pip and noticed that the exhaust was leaking, right on the collector box, as they do...apparently.
So, a replacement stainless one is the answer i recon.
I'm sure quite a few of you Foccers have been down this road (sic), so any suggestions on what you feel is the better replacement system?
Also thinking of replacing the manifold nuts with brass ones, as i did on the Ducati Monster when i replaced the system on that, might as well whilst it's off, doncha think?

You'll get several suggestions from either Delkevic, motad, or sandy spares.
I've had two sets of Motad ones in the past (1 for fazer, 1 for Thundercat)
It sounds strange but if you go for motad don't order over the Internet, phone them up, tell them you remember seeing them on ebay for about £180, he'll tell you to hold the line, then come back to you with a price similar to that.
Also it's a British company so help ourselves out!

With the motad ones isnt there somthing about having to sleave them down for some kind of somthing or other
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

Yeah, i think i remember reading something like that on here a while back.
Nonetheless, the system from Sandyspares seems like a decent deal, at £171 i think i might seriously consider them.

Cheers for the help guys.

If you're interested, I may be selling a brand new set of motads that have never been used for £139.99 plus postage of about £12? Bought them, took my original down pipes off and realised they weren't quite as bad as I thought. Have now had them repaired and am prepping them for paint and doing the first 2 coats tomorrow. If you're interested please pm me, if not they will likely be going on the for sale section soon anyway.
