Cost of replacing a worn and corroded EXUP, compared against the slight increase in response, is in my opinion, not worth it, ive rode a Fazer with and with out, and unless your racing, you really are not going to miss it!

Fact!
Don't bullshit me, and I wont bullshit you.

Racing's got nothing to do with it. It's low speed around town that you miss the EXUP...

I agree that if you've got a faulty one it's probably not worth the hassle though.

I beg to differ, bike is far more subtle on low revs without the EXUP, making easier riding through traffic, less jerkiness, but in saying that, im  making that assumption without riding the bike in the town, just what it felt like when i rode it over mountain roads,

"I might be wrong here, but I think that there's two issues. First, you've got the valve not opening properly,  but also, the ignition map is altered if it's stuck."

Big up AJ, but is the ignition map controlled by the exup servo assy and if so and left functioning without the cables would the map perform as standard ?

I run the servo without cables on mine (Akra full system, so no EXUP to operate) and can confirm that the ignition timing is as it should be.

Yeah, but these headers give a good deal more over 4k rpm than the stock headers with EXUP disabled.  More than enough to make up for the softer power delivery in the 3 - 4k rpm range.
