silver engined fazor flakeing

whats the best way to clean up the engine as its flakeing,
what grade of paper to use and
what paint is recommened for a good match

Hi ting.....iam using hycote for my thou but have used simoniz before, both good colour match, the timing cover in the picture has been painted with hycote, the round plug with the slot in it is the original colour...
