Going for a bit of a mini Europe tour - any suggestions?
« on: 21 April 2014, 09:46:46 pm »
So, obviously I've got the right bike for the job haven't I? A FZS600. Upright, comfy, smooth etc.

Well, except for the noisy end can, lack of faring and 'ultra low' bars! (mine has been converted to naked...)

So, I'll be riding to Norway later this summer, then down into Germany, possibly then further into Germany, and maybe all the way to Barcelona before I come back home. Besides a Satnav, what essentials would you all recommend taking? Certain tools? Luggage carriers? Particular service items?

Thanks

I'm off to Germany in June and I am keeping all my documents/valuables in waterproof bags in a bum bag that will always be with me and not left on the bike.

He don't need Condoms, one presumes he'll be catching the ferry across and won't be riding thru rivers like Clarkson ;)

My last road trip was over 7500 miles from East to West and back across the States. Admittedly it wasn't on a bike, but I know how to cover distance! Barcelona isn't certain - I'll decide while I'm out there. I might get part way and go 'screw this, it's too far, I'll just make the South of France my furthest point!'

Blew a rad on a tl1000s in normandy a couple of years back, breakdown company were useless and ended up costing £1500.00 EUROS (after the french  suzuki dealer told me it would be 600 euros max i went ahead with a new rad, they then charged me another 900 euros for fitting delivery and post charges).so i always suggest taking a box of matches/lighter so if the bike gets damaged and they wont ship it back for you, you can set light to it. :evil
