fitted my recently bought shock conversion from luke over the weekend, bike now handles a lot better and feels more composed, all in all a very worthwhile mod for the price of a decent set of tyres,  :)

Nice load of posts, seems brilliant work ,

My 2007-8 fz1 seems hard on the rear, at speed on the A roads bucks me off the seat ALOT  :eek

Maybe i should start by adjusting the spring tension,,perhaps the last owner was a fat bas**rd  :lol

Anyhow, will these sorted shocks fit my model?
I know its only the internet but they are real people ! ain't they?

I would read up a bit about suspension before you do anything ...sounds like you dont have much idea !...

it dont matter how much anyone weighs if the spring is too hard for their weight....

Correct !!

I will do a trial and error ride with the shock,,is there off the shelf springs for the standard shock or does one have to source one suitable for a lighter bloke?

I will also check to see what the compression and rebound are set at and see where they can be bettered.

Cheers

Hi Luke, Jase(Wrexham) ere bud, I fitted the R6 shock today and fitting was fairly straight forward as per instructions said, test ride was well what can i say? AWESOME!!!!! bike has been totally transformed, the rear does no longer squat under giving it some gas :-) and the bike no longer runs wide on   a bends as before, also bike does not wallow on cornering. you are a very gifted man! Thank you for your help and knowledge in coming up with a cure to the handling issue on the Fazer (at a fraction of the cost in buying a new one!) I have had my Fazer 5yrs this November and i have never been happier with it than i was today when i took it out for a test ride!Oh and the 'dog bones' are the dogs bollocks too! I sat there for half an hour trying to decide whether to fit em or not as they look that good! LOL
