Other 3 plugs look good but number 1 looks like tippex on centre electrode and running rich outside.. Any ideas??

The fazer is back on the road, and going like a fazer should and I'm like a dog with 2 dicks.. Had carbs on and off a few times, trying to sort out flat spot, getting annoyed,turns out it was the fuel pump all along..  Thanks to all for their input,I have learned loads about the fuel system not scared of tackling any job on her now.. Juat gonna ride her everywhere and catch up on lost road craft. What to do next ??? Clive

Deffo carbs ok, no back pressure or anything, float and fuel levels spot on, new pump fine.
No noises anymore !!
Pump was £19 from ebay with 2 year warranty and right size inlet and outlet pipes..slightly different from o.e pump..
So far so good

Got new pump coming, the leads were bullet connectors instead of proper 2 pin push connector, so I'm guessing must have had issues before ..

I didn't think it should click that much either I changed fuel filter about a month ago Gnasher... Gonna have another look tomorrow and put a link pipe in and take the filter out, and see.. will post up results Thanks again guys..

Unfortunately not darrsi, it's been making the noise for a while now..
Just want to eliminate the pump as a problem I've got relating to the fuel system...

My fuel pump runs for ages(and noisy)exactly 5 secs every time I turn on ignition, I thought once fuel is in bowls the pump wouldn't need to keep priming
itself every time.
I read on here to test fuel pump you can put a finger over the outlet of the pump and turn on ignition, see if pump stops or carries on (pressure check)..
Did that yesterday and pump keeps running (priming ?) for 5 sceonds with my finger on outlet ..(exactly same length of time as when I turn ignition on..)
Should it stop more or less straight away with my finger over it , or run for a few seconds before stopping ??

I put a see through type fuel filter on my fazer, I can see the petrol squirting in but it's only half filled the filter, should it be full up
or is it a lazy fuel pump ??

That's the one, I know it's 183mm long and I wrote the o/d and i/d down somewhere.. Good shout for using ally tube, I had thought about mild steel tube.. It's going to be the damper that's the problem I reckon.. Thanks for the info, I'll source some ally tube

As said in subject, going to change forks back to standard as they've been modded to take emulators.
Need the top spacer (183mm long) and damper.

What about start her up and let her run, then use a hair dryer onto radiator to speed up the process until fan cuts in.. ??

Finally got all 4 plugs the same colour, nice tan electrode !!! A quick dash up the road,runs well through the rev range, idles fine,just need to balance carbs tomorrow.. Did as advised by Gnasher and cleaned bleed screws, also changed new mixture screw back to the old one. Got a Pipercross air filter coming next week so may hold off on the balance until that's fitted. Thanks for all the help and advice from you guys, just convinces me this forum is the best.
