Dremel type rotary tool going for £20. I haven't used it yet though so can't comment on the quality, but this is what you get in the box.

Anyone owned/knows someone who owned one of these? I've seen a few for sale with hardly any miles on them going for surprising low asking prices (under £4500). The power/weight ratio looks similar to a Fazer 600 but they look the business & have pretty impressive shocks & brakes. I would imagine you could get some serious lean angles too. I've never owned a V twin & at the prices they are going for it's looking a bit tempting. Is anyone aware of any reasons why they seem so cheap?

Greetings foccers

A workmate is looking into getting one of these for a 20 mile a day commute. Anyone know anyone who has any experience of ownership? Any particular models that have racked up 10k+ miles and still going strong? He's never had a bike before & I'm doing my bit to promote motorcycling. Hopefully riding a horrible dog of a thing won't put him off but motivate him to take his test and move onto bigger and better things!

FZS600 Fazer / Brakes...Help!
« on: 27 February 2015, 01:10:02 pm »
Hi folks

I've just been cleaning my calipers, put rubber grease on the pistons etc. When I was pushing them back in, one of them popped out - not completely but enough for a few drips of fluid to leak out.

What consequences might this have? Not sure if any air got in the caliper or not.

Any advice?

Greetings Foccers, is this a 'fun' road & what's it like for speed cams etc? Also, are there many on the A50 these days?

Not sure what the motivation is behind this:

Perhaps some probing questions should be asked such as "Does your Mum know you are using ebay?"

I take it no one else from here went to Peterborough this weekend, as I only saw one other Fazer! Plenty of Bandits though. Even quite a few customs seemed to have bandit engines - not sure why they are so popular. Anyway, in the absence of anything remotely Fazer-like my vote for best in show went to this:

How would you go about sealing this gap? It's a bit too big for silicone. There was previously something like this stuck on there:

http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/tiles/adhesives-sealants/sealants/-specificproducttype-sealing_strips/Homelux-Flexible-Bath-Seal-White-L-3-5m-9277966?icamp=recs

But it wasn't doing a great job of keeping the water out & went a bit manky. Is there anything better I could use?

Sorry in advance for the tyre question!

These have been recommended to me as a good all weather tyre. Anyone tried them before? Opinions on grip/durability? What are your other recommendations for all weather/general purpose tyres?

FZS600 Fazer / Motad downpipes & collector
« on: 02 January 2014, 11:14:52 pm »
Just bought some of these recently (& snapped a stud getting the old ones off but that's another story...). If anyone's fitted them before, can you remember if you needed a new gasket for the silencer (standard one)? I only ask cause it's a very tight fit with the old, compressed one still in there. I can't really see how a new one would fit & don't want to make unnecessary purchase. If I do need one, which is recommended? Also, what size are the nuts on the 2 bolts that hang the exhaust? Would have been nice if Motad could have dropped some in the box!

FZS600 Fazer / Chafing/grinding noise
« on: 03 November 2013, 06:01:53 pm »
As title suggests I'm getting weird noises coming from somewhere. Don't think it's the engine as it sounds fine when stationary. Usually starts happening at around 20mph. I thought the front mudguard may have come loose but it seems fine & there doesn't seem to be anything stuck under it. Chain guard hasn't come loose either. Can't think where else moving parts might not sit flush. The noise is getting louder & louder to the point where even pedestrians are turning round to look. Could it be a wheel bearing? There doesn't seem to be any adverse effect on handling at the moment but getting very worried about taking it out. Any ideas anyone?

Evening Foccers,

Are these likely to be repairable or am I looking at a new one? If a new one is required, what are everyone's recommendations?

FZS600 Fazer / Adjusting rear brakes
« on: 09 July 2013, 09:08:33 pm »
Greetings all,

When I got my Fazer MOT'd a few weeks ago it was recommended I adjust the back brake as the lever pushes down quite a way before it engages.

Just been looking at it today & can't suss out how to undo the nut that's inside the stirrup thing (not sure what the correct noun is!) so I can move it toward the end of the thread. There's no way a spanner will fit in there, so how do my fellow foccers solve this little conundrum?

FZS600 Fazer / Starting issues - help!
« on: 12 September 2012, 06:48:17 pm »
Had my 03 Fazer for a few months now & been using it daily in all weather. A few times it has struggled to start - it  sometimes seems like the battery is low as the neutral light dims when turning over, but has always started after a few turns. Then next day everything would be back to normal.

Today it won't start at all. It turns over a few times then stops, as a buzzing noise comes from somewhere near the battery.

I'm guessing it may be some sort of electrical issue stemming from the summer monsoons. I'm not good with electrics, not even slightly. Anyone else had any similar problems? Any suggestions welcome. I have a can of WD40 ready, but not sure where to aim it!

General / Chain Cleaning
« on: 13 August 2012, 05:47:08 pm »
Hi there. I was in Lidl a while back & picked up a can of Baufix Brush Cleaner, as the tin stated it's suitable for machine parts/bicycle & motorcycle chains etc. I didn't think at the time whether it would be suitable for O ring chains though. I don't suppose anyone has tried using this stuff?

The gumph on the tin states it contains aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, alcohols and xylene (isomers). I have no idea what all that means but would any clever people know if any of that is NOT suitable for O ring chains?

Greetings FOC'rs, customary hello here from new member. Acquired my 02 600 Foxeye a few months ago but a bit slow to join up. Hoping to benefit from lots of useful advice from you all.
