Has anyone got a picture of the carbs mounted on the bike
« on: 17 January 2024, 01:36:35 am »
Hello,
Sorry for the odd request, the background to the question is that my friends bike had work done in France..now the bikes carbs seem to be pulling down on the carb rubbers.  Seems like something is fitted wrong.  Hence asking for pictures to investigate further.
Thank you

Check the service manual, it has a dedicated chapter on the carburetor alone.

Hello,
Here are the pictures of both sides of the bike

The problem I have is that the bike has had repair work to the carbs, in france, by a car garage.  The carb rubbers are cracked more at the top than the bottom so I am trying to work out if the carbs are on correctly mounted.

That looks ok to me. They do crack more at the top as thats where the sun hits them. You will notice the inner ones are not normally as bad as the outer ones.

Thank you for replying.

The cracks are wider open at the top, like the carbs have been seated too too low.  More photos shortly.  The problem is not my bike and I'm just tinkering replacing the brake lines, fork oil and discovered graunchy wheel bearings.

Editted: As I wanted to say thank you ans I didn't the first time and to add a bit of clarity.

Replace the inlet rubbers and it will be fine. Looks normal
