r6 forks

hi all  ive decided to keep my baby as i cant think of anything that will do the same job and keep me smiling.
so i want to upgrade my front forks best i can so R6 seems to be best option  at right price
so anybody got a set i can slot into my baby    ?

Theres a few sets on ebay. Are they just a straigh swap for the standard fzs600 forks then?

I'd really like a fork up grade and would love to know which USD forks and yolks have been fitted by people in the past to FZS600 s

You need to take into account the length of the forks your thinking about fitting.
 
With r6 forks you will lose the speedo drive and will need an aftermarket speedo..
 
The standard fzs600 forks can be transformed with emulators and aftermarket springs .

I fitted R1 forks to my old FZS, I had to press the centre stem out of the FZS bottom yoke and then put it in the R1 yoke, It also required a small spacer under the top yoke and the use of an aftermarket speedo

Short answer- no, need the yokes too, and depending on choice of bike you go for May need to grind out the stem and swap it over, possibly welding it in place.

You need to take into account the length of the forks your thinking about fitting.

This is true but there is room to fit longer forks and have them pushed through the yokes, however fork travel then needs to be taken into account with normal forks as mudguard void smash into fairing, with usd's the travel ship Kent be an issue!

Not necessarily, It depends on the wheel casting, I managed to fit the speedo to a thundercat wheel with very minor fettling!


Swapping to a thundercat frontend is very simple, it is better than standard but no where near as good as a proper sports bike front end!
