The big CB is a cracking bike Dolau. Usual top quality Honda finish, pulls like a steam train and lots of road presence. Just a tad big. Not something you'd be chucking around the twisties at any great speed.

Over the years, I've learned that every forum has an argumentative know it all.

:lol  Does this one?  :lol

All the Hondas are a bit for pensioners compared to Yamahas.  Maybe it's just me.
Does that include the Fireblade? LOL  :lol

I've had four CBR600's and loved everyone of them (1 RR and 3 F's). Cracking all-round bike and the newest one has got to be the best to date. Light, fast, reliable and top quality finish from Honda. Dull?? How can ANY modern 600 be dull?? Only the rider can be dull.

Just book a test-ride and make your own mind up.

I've noticed on a few parts/accessory sites that they differentiate between 01-03 and 04-05 FZS1000's.  Why?

Makes my blood boil! Why didn't you go after them and slap them around the side of the head with a heavy bible??
Glad you're okay.

Here's my humble entry. I took this while touring the Isle of Mull on an FJR1300 back in 2007. I'd just got off the ferry and a couple of miles up the (single lane) track, I spotted these boats. I had to grab the shot very quickly on a compact camera with cars behind me pipping their horns  :lol

I call it "LAST OF THE FISHING"

I used to have an NC30 - cracking little bike, but damn, it was small!

THOSE WHO SAY IT CAN'T BE DONE, SHOULD KEEP QUIET WHILE OTHERS ARE DOING IT.

Never has an expression been so apt. Brilliant work. An inspiration.

Hi Gaz, my father's family are from Portadown so I've been over to NI a few times and enjoyed the craic.

I've also toured the whole island starting at Dublin and following the coast ALL the way around. Favourite county was Kerry - beautiful.

Hope u enjoy your 600. Cracking lookin bikes!

Good info guys. On eBay I've just found some "Yamaha Blue Spot Caliper Plugs" which push into the spots and cover them. They're silver (which is fine) and only £4.95

Hi Keith, that's excellent news - thanks. How much are they each?? And what is the actual purpose of them?

Regards, Tom.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Those BLUE caliper bits....
« on: 03 June 2012, 12:54:09 pm »
Hi all, there's one thing which REALLY drives me nuts about some Yamahas and that's those bright blue parts of the caliper which look out of place on anything but a blue bike.

I notice the new Tenere has gold ones. Are they interchangeable or what?

I know it's only a little thing, but I also know it will bug the life out of me, lol.

« on: 03 June 2012, 04:36:51 am »
The late registration thing is not that rare PB - I've seen it before on a few occasions. The bike (as you said) is bog standard and will pretty much remain that way apart from fitting SatNav and maybe some Renthals.

I very nearly bought a 2001 FZS from my cousin a couple of weeks ago but it only had one key and at the time, neither of us knew if Fazers had  chipped immobiliser keys like Hondas do, so I pulled out because generally speaking, new key sets and ECUs cost about a grand.

It turns out they don't, so I needn't have worried after all. To be honest though, I think my cousin was pleased because he liked the bike anyway and it certainly was a minter.

Introduction / HELLO FROM BOLTON - FZS1000
« on: 02 June 2012, 10:25:17 am »
Hi all,
My name's Tom. I live in Horwich just outside Bolton (just around the corner from the well known biker haunt - Rivington Barn).

I've had about 40 bikes over the years and most of them have been Hondas, but mixed in there have also been Triumphs, Moto Guzzis, BMW's, Suzukis and even a brand new FJR1300. Yesterday, I walked into a dealership and bought me a 2007 Fazer Thou. It's actually the 2005 model but it wasn't registered til 07. I'll be picking it up in a week or so and I'm VERY much looking forward to it. I'm currently riding a CBR600 and love it (I've had four), but I just spotted this Fazer and thought "Mmmm, I've always fancied one of those", so I bought it.

I'm knocking on a bit now (53), so the upright position of the Fazer is probably much more sensible than the CBR's.  I'm looking forward to having 150BHP on tap and lots of torque. I bought a new CBF1000 in 2006 but found it to be very dull - the Fazer seems to have so much more "ooomph"!

Anyway, here's the only photo I have of the bike until next week (and then I'll be boring everyone to death with pix) lol.
