Just rode the bike home from work, and at lower constant speeds I can only describe the bike as sounding like it was mildly shivering. Open the throttle up and it responded absolutely fine, but to me something is not quite right, but I don't know what? I balanced the carbs not so long ago and they were all good. The only similar thing I've had before was when my TPS was gradually breaking down, but I just checked that and it pinged straight to 5K rpm so I'm a bit stumped, I don't even know where to begin?
Any ideas anyone?

Thought i'd ask you lot seeing as i know a few of you like a track day.
Don't have much info at the moment 'cos it's not long happened, but a friend of mine had a test ride on a brand new bike at a proper track and unfortunately has come a cropper on it.
He's a little bit injured, not sure how much yet, but i was wondering, what would be the score about damage to the bike, and him? Would he just wear his injuries and they worry about the bike?
Any thoughts appreciated?

This nut job occasionally posts his ideas in online newspapers, or just adds the odd ridiculous comment every now and then. I can't help but instantly slag him off because he is a very twisted man who not only spouts bollox but what he writes is also bloody dangerous if you were stupid enough to listen to him. Some of it is laughable but he really believes in his ideas which is quite scary really. Have a quick read and see what i mean. http://www.kadir-buxton.com/

Found an empty oil dispensing bottle in my drawer at work, with the angled needle type end, so took it home thinking it'll come in useful one day. Turns out it's exactly the right size to fit down the inside of the clutch cable. Squeezed some 3-In-One oil down the hole whilst pumping the lever, then left the bike on the centre stand overnight with the steering on right hand lock and I woke up to a freshly lubed clutch cable, without even having to remove and adjust it. You can get them on Ebay for a few quid. Happy days.

I'm clutching at straws a bit, but i noticed a few of you have been in the forces before so i have nothing to lose by asking. I just bought an expensive pair of Haix Combat Boots, which are supposedly the mutts nuts as boots go, but i'm having a bit of an issue with them that has me stumped. Even when standing still, let alone actually moving in them, i'm getting static electrical shocks between my toes on my left foot only. If they were some cheap nasty boots then i may understand it, but they really aren't, in fact they're more the top end of the scale boots. Not only that but they are also classed as anti static boots, and i have just put some gel anti static insoles too, which has really helped but not totally eradicated it, i still get the odd tingle. And before you ask, i only wear cotton socks, and don't wear polyester pants. I have a feeling that when they're broken in a bit it may alleviate the static, but i'm certainly a bit peeved that it's happening at all.I own several decent pairs of boots, like Magnum, 5.11, Lowa, Bates, etc, and have never had this problem at all with any of them?I was just wondering if any of you lot had any tips at all on solving it, because as boots go they are a great fit, and perfect on the bike as they're Gortex, Hydrophobic, hardened toe, etc, and generally a really well made tough but lightweight boot.

Due to a discussion on here, about how to solve the riddle of steamed up glasses, got me thinking about what we really want, but for whatever reason, mankind hasn't quite fathomed out yet? I'll start the ball rolling with: Diet, healthy alcohol

As above, looking for a working rear caliper in good nick that's ready to fit straight away with minimal fuss. Cheers, Darrsi.

I'm not sure how it really happened because i always use copper grease and a torque wrench, and i'm not heavy handed anyway, but i've managed to strip the thread on the rear caliper where the back pad pin goes. There's a tiny bit of bite there so i've Loctite'd it for now, but was wondering if it can be safely helicoiled or not? There doesn't appear to be much room to play with, and was also wondering if there's a chance i could damage a brake fluid chamber as well? Has anyone tried this before, or are there any other options other than a replacement caliper? Cheers, Darrsi.

Normally, when using my laptop, if I hover the cursor over a subject title on this forum it shows you a preview of what's been written without opening the whole link up, then when the cursor is taken off it goes away, which is fine. But this does not happen with my iPad tablet or mobile phone. Once I touch a subject it previews it but then it stays there, so I can't see sod all else on the screen which is annoying to say the least. Is there a way of turning it off at all?
