I have the very same set up. Bike is very stable at speed and I can get most of my gear in the box.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / Re: New Fazer 8 owner.
« on: 24 February 2013, 12:34:57 pm »
Hi Ed we are a rare breed. I am in Harlow and have only ever seen one other 8 and that was parked up in central London. Like you I did the fazer 600 thing first. I only changed bike as mine was over ten years old and things started going wrong.  A couple of big bills was enough to make me change.

I see that the London foccers are arranging a monthly meet up. It would be good to see another 8 owner!

I'm up for that too. I would be coming down from Harlow if anyone coming from that way?

Hi

We are all here. Fear not. I had heard that there was a London meet up planned?

This has been the first week for ages I have been off the bike, hate the snow and ice, it's the only conditions that keep me off the roads.

Even braved the NEC from Harlow in December for the bike show in -2 conditions and freezing fog. Have invested in some Gerbing heated gloves which have made winter riding a real doddle.

We are a elite bunch never see other FZ8's on the road either.  Lots of FZS600's which I had previously but no 800's.

Safe riding

I agree with all the above comments. TBH ride slowly you arn't going to take a cropper like that. Stay central to the roads on bends. Take it easy and get there in one piece. I am regularly overtaken by crazy moped riders in the wet. But they always have the war wounds on their heaps to show for it.

Fazercool looks like you have taken the same route as me. Swapped in a 02 FZS600 few weeks ago for a Fazer8.  Great bike, very stable but with the top end rush just like the 600. Third gear, twist of the wrist and you know your riding a fazer!

Ta for that, £84 though, all the Yammi gear is expensive isn't it? Off to Snetterton tomorrow as the suns shining :)

« on: 16 April 2012, 10:57:53 pm »
I did wonder if the gauge was showing right but better still 4 litres left in the tank!

Brands looked cold Phil, was thinking of going to Snetterton. I think Oulton Parks too far for me. Ventured as far as Assen for WSB last year - 440 miles each way in a day on a FZS600 - worth the trip thou.

I have an original screen for the facelift foxeye fazer 600 in my garage and bolts. Fittted a double bubble on my bike then traded in for a Fazer8.

I am in Harlow, Essex - Free to a good home - leave a message here.

I'm curious Simon what mileage are you getting per tank and whats the capacity on the 8?

right bad news is last bar on gauge starts blinking at 130 miles. Good news is that when i filled it up again i only got in 12.2 litres.

This means two things (i) gauge maybe not set right and (ii) getting 48 miles to the gallon.

I think thats exactly why the fazer8 isn't selling as its just over-priced new. I think in a few years people will think its a good bike, well made. I considered the FZ1 but a friend has one and considers it a blast but wishes he had a FZS600 again. I may rue getting rid of my FZS but I still consider myself a novice even after five years. Maybe next bike  :)  will be a FZ1 (or an R1 haha)

Hi

New to the site but have always had a fazer (well five years of riding). Ride every day except snow, don't do snow! If you see me in and around Harlow  i'll always nod, this is my bike.

Thanks, myfazer8, beginning to think these bikes are rare. Haven't seen another since I bought mine about a month ago. Looked on howmanyleft and it says only 164 in the Country lol. Mind you I only ride it weekdays soo many plonkers on the roads here at the weekend. Don't fancy getting knocked off by a sorrydidntseeyou person. I only started biking about five years ago aged 40! Had always wanted to try it.

Average about 7,000 miles a year. Was sorry to see the fzs go but she had got to 30,000 miles and showing her age a bit.

Pleased with mine - I am not the knee down type but find its as flickable as the old one.

you?

One thing I have noticed is that my fazer8 runs up to temp quite quickly when standing in traffic - never had a temp guage in the old one, normal?
