In my opinion definitely, along with a set of cheap ebay hand guards for the coldest times of the year.
In weather like we've got today they're useful, but when it hits 5 or under, the palms of your hands stay warm but the backs still freeze, hence the handguards.

Definitely  :lol

On the subject, I saw some silly little oink this morning on his clapped out 125 with a bean can attached wearing jeans, t-shirt and jumper with no gloves.  It was 2ºC, I mean, seriously, why would anyone do that to themselves!  I was sitting in the car which hadn't quite warmed up and was freezing my tits off!

Def. BIG YES from me but I get the problems of there is a medical name for it ,
- but my fingers go white and numb when riding, sometimes even in the summer , but cold riding would not be possible for me without it I'd loose some of my fingers  :thumbdown

Its part vibration, part bad circulation, but cold def. makes it worse. I'd buy decent heated grips anytime R&G are good (for me)

Mr Self Destruct, old thread I know, but have you fitted those Universal handguards?
Wondering, because if you have, I'd like too.
Just got a new to me FZS1000, so looking to 'mod'.
Got the heated grips, just looking at hand guard options

Ian

Yes I did mate, got them three years ago and use them over winter. The fit is ok for my 600 but I'm not sure about a 1000 as I've never had one, but the fairings look similar so you should be ok.
They're not as effective as proper mitts, but with winter gloves and heated grips my hands are always warm.

This is the only picture I have I'm afraid, but it shows the bracket resting over the clutch lever bolt. The main attachment point is the bar end and the bracket just gives an extra bit of support. Really easy to fit, basically one bolt!

Studies find benefits from this, especially the way you want it bad.
