« on: 19 January 2012, 11:06:11 am »
i got one of these to stop crap getting thrown up onto the bike from the front wheel but it attaches using screws and i dont really want to drill holes in the front mudgard. so does anyone have an alternative way to mount them?

I glued mine on with silicone sealant. Was a bit doubtful about how secure that would be at first, but it's stayed put for 12 years all-weather riding so far. :)

All too long ago for my memory to retain that sort of detail I'm afraid, but probably bought it in Halfords, maybe this stuff (or its predecessor):
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_749365_langId_-1_categoryId_255230
Should think any exterior grade silicone would do as well.

I used Araldite on mine

Me too & it's been there for a couple of years now without any problems.

Just to be sure, I roughed up the mating surfaces first & then left if for 24 hours to set with clamps holding them together.
