Hi All,
Just taken my 2003 for it's MOT. Left rear indicator was working fine on the way there, but wasn't when it was tested (all 3 others were OK). Tester changed the bulb, but it made no difference. On the way home, failure certificate in pocket, the damn thing starts to work again, and has been all the way home.
I know that there can be electrical problems caused by the large connector up under the left fairing infil, but could that include the rear indicator? I don't want to waste time opening it up and trying to clean it up if the problem is never going to be there.
Anyone got any words of wisdom?
TIA

If its just that one indicator, then its not likely the handlebar switch, the relay or the loom, so -
- A loose/corroded connector, check and it cant hurt to spray electrical contact cleaner in both the male/female connectors
- A bad socket, indicators get vibrated a lot. So the spring inside sock might have lost some of its elasticity
- Or just a bad wire somewhere in the indicator.
Got some pics of the inside of the indicator housing?

Which connectors am I looking for? I don't know much about the electrics.

Ok at this point I would suggest finding a mate/friend who electrically minded.

I'm a quick learner, I just need to know where on the bike I'm looking, i.e. back front, behind panel, etc.

Before you go playing with the wiring, which could well be the issue.
Try wiggling the bulb/holder in the indicator, they often work lose/break the connections at the back of the holder or they corrode. The holder can be removed cleaned and connections repaired.
Also check the connections from the indicator to the bike loom first and work your way backwards

@Gnasher Thats how my indy was fixed, little bit of corrosion needed a wiggle to correct now all good!
