Dire Straits - On Every Street

Missed the boat as it was so long after Brothers in Arms, but it's a real grower. The title track builds incredibly it makes the hair on your neck stand up.

Also New Favourite by Alison Krauss + Union Station

Great songs, and Alison Krauss has an insanely good voice.

Favourite?  Oh boy so many albums I love.

Been listening to State Broadcasters - Ghosts we must carry.  Very much enjoying it.

In the post, should be here tomorrow are,

High Violet by The National
Same old Man by John Hyatt
Push the Sky Away by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds.

I do love Nick Cave and The Seeds, hoping this new un is good.
Oh and did I say I love Tom Waits, night be short of one or maybe two but more or less got the lot, plus some of his early recordings on the two Early Years albums.

Somebody mentioned Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division. That album is only bettered by Closer.
Can't believe nobody has mentioned Never Mind The Bollocks!

Tough one. I think I’d have to say… ‘The Best of the Beatles’  :lol

The only recent album that springs to mind Is Brothers by The Black Keys. I booked tickets on the strength of hearing the first two tracks for the first time and it turned out to be one of the best gigs I've been to.
