Mirror blanks
« on: 06 May 2014, 03:42:42 pm »
As I removed the ridiculous antennae mirrors recently and went to bar ends, the recesses in the fairing have been making the old grey matter work.
Here is what it looks like atm.

I've made blanks out of plastic which took me ages to carve out, also I filled the holes with chemical metal to create blocks which are not quite finished yet.
Here's the plastic disks.

And up close.

The chem metal blocks. One with screws in from the top, the other I integrated bolts in place when I moulded them.

And up close.

So It'd be good to get some opinions in what looks best.

I much prefer the look with the screws visible......but not screws.....much better with like some kind of bling allen bolts or something showing i stead of the screw heads.

I do love the devil horn type thingsys that kosmic has...they're cool.......shark fins would look cool......god im tacky!

My Horns of Wrong have now been removed... They kept tearing holes in my dust covers, so I only put them on for special outings  :lol

You need to get some nice blingy domed cap heads instead of those Phillips screws IMO.

So that's +2 for getting some special headed screws.

Kosmic...where did those beasty horns come from anyway......i tempted to take off my oem mirrors & go with a single handlebar mount mirror...one of my xt660 mirrors...& these horns give me the horn.

I like plastic cap screws,,look real nice in a council house bathroom :lol

Ok then, second thoughts,,,what about mirror fixing screws,,the ones where after the screw you fit a chrome dome into it,,,oh ,here we go again,,,is this bike for zooming up and down the lights strip at Blackpool,,,,oh no :o

I like the devilsyam horns...they are cool.

But it aint right just copying stuff.

A single shark fin would look awesome........but you dont get white sharks....or red ones :\ .

So i'd need to think of a red creature.

Everywhere i go now ill be looking for alternate uses to stuff as to whether it can be used.
