FZS 1000 battery
« on: 28 May 2016, 07:20:55 pm »
Hi, I purchased a , YTX14-BS Powerline Motorcycle Battery 12V 14Ah to replace the knackered battery in the fzs 1000. Got it this morning but its just slightly too big to fit in the bike. Its slightly bigger than the 12-BS it had fitted so its just out and wont budge. As it was listed for a fzs 1000 and some people have fitted them to there fazers its baffling as to why its too big, stupid mistake I guess! Anyone on here have one fitted?

I believe correct fitment for Gen 1 is YT14B-BS. YTX14-BS is 17mm wider (87mm instead of 70mm). YTX14 might fit Gen 2 FZ1 (same width as YTZ14-BS for that bike) - maybe thats why?

Just fitted the exact same model but with Yuasa, had a tough time getting it to fit as well but with a little 'nudge' it went in. My heart did stop as I thought it wouldn't :)

Correction, I had the YT14B-BS - still had a tough time fitting the Yuasa one for some reason as stated above.

Just remember that if you have to force it in, getting it out again will be even tougher.
