FZS 1000 neutral issue
« on: 10 May 2016, 12:41:17 pm »
Hi, my neutral light does not come up on the dash. The bike only starts when its on the centre stand and won't start with the side stand down, even when its in neutral.
I've given the side stand switch a clean and checked the connection at the blue connector which seems fine but I'm still not to sure where to look. There is a clicking noise at the box under the left hand side black panel by the seat when I pull the clutch in but that could possibly just be normal?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Give the starter solenoid a wiggle if that fails try bump starting.

The neutral switch on the back of the engine might have failed. Mine did ages ago. This post might help

I've also just had my neutral light switch replaced. IIRC it was about £30 odd from Yamaha.
